If Murray wins the Australian Open how will you react?

...how will you react?

You already know how I will react, but how will you?

Also, will it give him new found confidence to continue his amazing form and win more slams? US Open this year? Wimbledon?

Discuss....

It will be emotional moment, seeing a champ winning a slam
but I doubt it, he has to defeat Soderling, Rafa, and Fed/Djo . If he wins it, he will be the best

I'm not sure how you'll react tbh... :scared:  Although it will start with elation, that's for sure.

I'll be happy for him if he wins, like I would be for virtually any player. However, it has been nice to see a more fun side to Muzza so far this year, which I don't remember really seeing much of. Courier has encouraged him out of his shell a little in the on-court interviewers, and there have been some funny moments with Croft and Wilander too. I have been indifferent to him over the years (despite the fact that he plays for my country :o), but I might become more of a supporter by next Sunday, in which case it would perhaps mean a tiny bit more to me.

I think he needs a Slam win pretty badly, so Australia is as good a place to start. You could argue that he is overdue a win, so it would be nice for him to do it. It would be such a release for him, and he would be capable of winning a few more.

That's a good point. It would be good for the game to add another slam winner in the mix of players. At the same time, it would be exciting to see a player hold all 4 slams at once, although my preference is Fed. :)

Maybe but I don't really like domination in sports, now I can stomach it if my favourite player is dominating(but even then I'd still prefer a bit of parity)but Nadal's playing style is not my cup of tea at all(I think he's a great player though).

Several notes:

1. He finally has an aggressive forehand that he's used in his arsenal to survive the likes of Federer, Gonzalez, Tsonga, Djokovic, Berdych, Soderling, Verdasco, old Roddick, Davydenko, Nalbandian, Baghdatis, Cilic, Querrey, Del Potro and the other tough customers.

2. He will have a surge of confidence like Djokovic and others who win a slam for the first time, and will use this achievement to boost productive and optimistic behavior that may enable his chances of winning more slams or at least making deep competitive runs.

I feel this is the best moment/opportunity. He has a fair bracket, unlike Soderling/Berdych. His footwork is amazing, his volleys are amazing, as long as his serve % is consistent it helps him out, his return of service is top notch, forehand has high accuracy, he's got a deadly backhand, what more can I say??

Just has to keep himself together mentally (to avoid choking by dropping the serve %) and just implementing that heavy forehand technique to set himself up for winners and 1-2 punches. Nothing more and nothing less.

The only obstacle that can get in his way is Novak Djokovic. Simply because Murray spent too much time with Nadal at the slams so he has a chance to upset Nadal. As for Federer, he played him 2x, and a ton of times at the masters, so he has some level of expectations. But as for Djokovic, he's never even played him 1x at the slam level. So Djokovic might have the mental edge on this one given that he's comfortable against any player at the slams, maybe except for Nadal, but was able to push him at the USO.

I'd be so happy for him. He's worked hard for it, and with his talent, it would really be quite a pity if he doesn't have a HC Slam.

My first feeling would be to buy a ticket to USA and jump from the Empire state building.........

Anyone is better than Nadal. haha. That's my feeling. I mean anyone. Better have a true tennis player as a champ not someone who cheats

Why does he deserve to win?

He's a loser, a choker.

A virgin in Slams.

He has no balls.

Clowns like Mugray should never be allowed to win Slams.

Seriously! Any player who works hard and then wins the 7 players in his draw deserves a slam! Any slam winner deserves all the praise they get. It doesn't matter if you like him or not if he wins he deserves it end of converstaion!

Yes man...

But remember me...

When Mugray wins one?

He's a clown, a choker.

He never had the balls to win the 7.

Why does he deserve if he can't until now win an event like a GS, beating 7 guys???

When he does, he'll deserve.

Until this day arrive, he doesn't deserve shit.

only way murray can win is if nadal surrenders because of injury like last year. murray still lost to federer but i think murray will win if nadal gets injured.

OMG you really do like the sound of your own voice don't you! Are you a mind reader?? How do you know he didn't have the balls to win a slam? He got beaten twice in finals by a clearly better player. Oh sorry I forget you are a multiple slam winner so you know exactly what it takes to win a slam!!! As I said IF he wins a slam he will deserve it as have all previous slam winners. And so what if he has never won a slam so far in his career? It doesn't matter how long it takes to win one. Now Mr Armchair Expert get back under the stone you crawled out from

No genious, you believe and you said he deserves right now.

And right now he doesn't deserve.

I don't give a fuck if he's working hard, if he's your countryman...

The fact is: he's a clown and he'll never win a slam playing like a pussy in Finals.
