Tomic outsliced Lalo, Raonic outserved Llodra, Berankis outhit Nalbandian (ok, Nalbandian was sick, but still) and Nishikori outrhythmchanged Mayer. Feels kinda weird, these old guys were junior players in the beginning of my tennis following and now are replaced by improved versions.

In summary, the AO has been excellent so far. I love it.

Not Nishikori, he was in the 4th round of the US Open 2008 after beating in 5 sets Pics, who was a 5-set specialist then.

In Nishikori's case it's more of a comeback. Happy for Berankis.

True, Nishikori has been around for a while though have to remember once he came back after a year off people in GM were acting outraged "who is this no name?" and mind he had already some fantastic scores *before* that break.

Kei is my favourite out of these players :hearts:

It's funny that it's been just about three years since Kei won that title in Delray Beach and how evident his impressive game and mentality was already then. The game today is just so freaking physical, and with his stature I will sadly always fear he can't help but exert himself in most of his matches as he won't ever be able to win a whole lot of free or cheap points.

Yes it is, and I'm loving it. Specially the success of Berankis and Raonic.

I wish Nishikori was a bit stronger physically - dude has mad game and tons of talent. Berankis, although short in stature, seems to be very strong kid, so no fears here probably. Tomic pushes too much for my liking, so I'm indifferent towards him really.

2011 is a good year tennis wise so far.

Lopez is rubbish, Llodra's only consistancy is that he's inconsistant, and Nalbandian was a dead man. Less breakthroughs and more walkovers.

Nishikori is just getting back on track

Berankis basically got a walkover though. Let's see how he does against Ferrer.
