Milos looks good, and as usual Llodra pretty classless throughout. Probably Youzhny in round 3.

:bounce: So happy for Milos! He played solid throughout the match even when he missed his 1st serve!
A lil hiccup in the middle of the 3rd set but it didn't phase him!

Milos is the first Canadian man to make the 3rd Round in a Grand Slam in Singles since Daniel Nestor made the 3rd round of the 2001 Australian Open.

First of the "younger generation" to get to the 3rd round of a slam?

Count me impressed. His tennis was superb today, especially on serve, and mentally astute. Particularly finishing it off. Wonderful.

Spectacular serving from Milos, especially in the second set; he lost just two points on serve. 73 winners to 20 UE, great stuff.

This Raonic is getting better every tournament. Last year he played challengers, but this year it looks really great for him to go high in rankings if he stay play on ATp tour. Llodra played normal match- he didn´t has bad day, he is just very weak on return- and returning with one-handed beckhand when you are SV style player against someone with such serve- no wonder that it goest to 2 tie-breaks- Both guys have great serve- Raonic is ace machine and also solid 2nd serve- i think he has great potential, and he hits many aces. Llodra on other side is not so much about aces but about good serve and running on the net and finihs it with great volleys. I am looking forward to see Raonic against Youzny- probably - Mikhail is great returner so we will se how great on serve Raonic really is. Also Dolgopolov great match- bot are young and play with strong serves, both guys Raonic and Dolgopolov have great future i think

Great serving and pretty clean match for Milos.
Also probably the best I've ever seen him move and return. That's what impressed me most today. And by reaching the 3rd round he does what Frankie could never do in only his second ever Grand Slam.

WOW.. did not see this one coming! I'm so proud of Milos though.. even though he loses in the next round, he has done himself and us proud:yeah: This is just what Canadian tennis needed too. I think Milos has a great future ahead of him. And even though his game isn't fully developed yet, he's improving from match to match. I think this guy is gonna be big.

Next match will be tough, bot nothing is impossible. Good luck Milos!

Beautiful play by Raonic here. Before this match he gave an interview some people perceived as cocky, but the kid just knew his value. I hope he keeps developing as a player, we need more of the net rushers, the world can't be as anticlimax as most of Tomic vs. Lalo exchanges today... /facepalm.

pretty sure i heard Llodra say "dont be racist" during the match to him

well he said it to someone

Yes, I heard those words spoken but didn't know who had said them or in what context they had been said - I had minimized the stream but had left the sound on. Initially I thought Llodra had said it to the umpire. Can anyone elaborate further? The match certainly became more intense at around this point.

I think he said it to a line judge, there were some terrible calls throughout, especially the game Milos was broken, the point at 0-15 of that game Milos hit a winner past Llodra at the net, when it bounced, Llodra yelled Allez, after that the linejudge called it out even though the reply clearly showed it in. After that Llodra was very annoyed at everything that happened.

According to Tom Tebbutt:

On the break point, Llodra tried to sucker Raonic by hitting high, loopy balls in a longish rally (by the day’s standards) only to finally wind up hitting a backhand cross-court wide. He didn’t like the call and got into it with umpire James Keothavong of Great Britain. There may be a fine coming for what Llodra said because Keothavong (of Cambodian ancestry) replied to him, “don’t be racist, don’t be personal."

Well now you had to go and troll. He is a Canadian first and foremost but an ethnic Serb who was born in Montenegro. Njegos, the father of Montenegro said that while there are some Serbs who are not Montenegrin, there are no Montenegrins who are not Serbs. But of course you already knew this. Better yet just call him Canadian and save yourself the trouble...

Exactly. He came to Canada with his family when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Canada. He spent most of his life in Canada. His career is because the Canadian tennis federation believed in him. He got a good trainer. His career is in Canada. He is Canadian. Doesn't matter where he was born..
