You heard it here 1st

He will bt a tired verdasco, then plays a mug in next round (berdych/gasquet) then the big one vs djokovic.

Not a chance IMO, but we'll see.

I think he'll get routined by Verdasco, assuming that the latter can play a half-decent match. It should be quite sunny and hot by Friday so that gives Verdasco a large edge on physical fitness. It really is man vs. boy in that respect.

Failing that, I agree that he might win his R4 encounter with Gasquet or Berdych. Assuming that it is Berdych, he will need Tomas's game to be mis-firing, otherwise he doesn't have an answer to raw power.

I would really not expect him to beat Djokovic at this stage, so I cannot see him going as far as SF.

He may test Verdasco and Berdych/Gasquet, but Berdych and Verdasco can play the huge groundstrokes that should unsettle Nishikori. They would definitely be odds on favourite to win. As for a potential match with Djokovic, I think it would be a surprise if he won more than one set.

Even if he doesn't win a further match at this tournament, it's nice to see him do well regardless.

Nah, it's not completely outrageous, I just didn't see him stringing so many quality wins right now. It was still more realistic than Isner making a semi, if that's any consolation

He doesn't, magician and the other clown overhyping him to no end, while simultaneously shitting all over numerous much better players are responsible for what you perceive.

So why didn't you laugh you ass off like that before today's match? Both have lost to far worse players not too long ago.

I didn't see this thread. Nishikori is a great player and I like him just he's not playing well enough to beat either IMO.

Verdasco's recent losses: several to Becker (and no, it's not Boris), Chardy, de Bakker, Robredo, Fognini. Should I go on? I won't go into Tomas', not keen on remembering those

Verdasco was always going to step it up here in Australia in my mind though, similar to the USO where he had an awful few months then played well there.
