Solid performance from Richie. The line calling was so bad Adrian (who is normally a nice bloke) refused to shake the umpire's hand at the end of the match.

He is doing well this year, just as I predicted last year. Beating Mannarino in straights just shows that he is playing well! :) bleu_cheese 01-19-2011, 06:19 AM Well done Gasquet. Flying under the radar. Hmm, Berdych next, not sure how that will go. Puschkin 01-19-2011, 06:25 AM WOW.. strong from Gasquet. He is doing well this year, just as I predicted last year. Beating Mannarino in straights just shows that he is playing well! :) Have you seen the match? I am a huge fan of Richard, but I can make a difference between a strong and an average performance. Today was average at best. The only thing Richard did really well, was the serve, particularly in the second set where he was able to confirm the rule that the better server will win the breaker. Mannarino is a very poor volleyer. *Jean* 01-19-2011, 06:40 AM Nice showing from Richard today, never in doubt. Keep going! Allez 01-19-2011, 07:26 AM Mannarino is a very poor volleyer. You're not suggesting that is the reason he lost the match I hope. There are very few good volleyers out there and quite frankly that is not his game. He played well but Gasquet was just too good. It was an above average performance for Gasquet these days :) Blackbriar 01-19-2011, 08:44 AM :yeah: congrats Ritchie, and good run from Adrian who enters top 70. pray-for-palestine-and-israel 01-19-2011, 09:02 AM pimp marches on pimp marches on wooo Puschkin 01-19-2011, 09:29 AM You're not suggesting that is the reason he lost the match I hope. No, it was just an observation. It was an above average performance for Gasquet these days :) Let us agree to disagree on this. Blackbriar 01-19-2011, 09:35 AM Gasquet leads 2-1 vs Berdych. I know, it was in another life, but if he did it he can do it again. At least he won in 3 and he's not too tired. US Open, 4th round, Australian 3rd, Ritchie starts to play good level in Grand Slams, that's a good sign. He could grab some spot at Indian Wells and Miami. What are the other televised courts then? solowyn 01-19-2011, 10:17 AM Is court 8 a televised court? It's one of the smallest on the grounds with only seats on one side. What are the other televised courts then? 6 and 8, along with the show courts. SaFed2005 01-19-2011, 11:57 AM The line calls in that 3 set were just  wtf... I think the lines people on that court need to get their eyes checked. oranges 01-19-2011, 12:03 PM Good job Richard :yeah: AsianSensation 01-19-2011, 12:33 PM I hope he doesn't decide to play 10 feet behind the baseline against Berdych... Blackbriar 01-19-2011, 02:58 PM It will be very short and painful if he commits this mistake. TMJordan 01-19-2011, 03:33 PM Adrian  silverwhite 01-19-2011, 04:57 PM It will be very short and painful if he commits this mistake. No ifs. It will happen for sure  Blackbriar 01-19-2011, 05:09 PM I'm afraid so. We know him to well  | |
