01-17-2011, 02:56 PM
wawa is a bit too strong for grigor i think, he comes from his victory at Chennai. 6 wins in a row. he wins in 4.

01-17-2011, 02:58 PM
I would like to say Dimitrov will win but I think no.

just like everyone else - i hope it's Grigor but i think it's Stan

Dimitrov in 4 is the wishful vote :D

Isn't Grigor's ex-coach Lungren Stan's coach at present? Lundgren knows Grigor very well and will give Stan the right advices. I expect Stan to win.

I am a big fan of Grisho (not all Lithuanian tennis fans hate Dimitrov you know, on the contrary, there are only a few of those who really don't like him, others are either indifferent or support him, so please don't judge us all by those few haters :) ) but I think Wawrinka is just too strong at the moment. I think Grisho would stand a fighting chance if he was at his best and Wawrinka was a bit off form, but I was watching Wawrinka - Gabashvili last night and Stas looked really really good. Like, good enough to go very deep in this AO. Granted, Dimitrov seems to be in an amazing form too, so it should be a very interesting match, but I think Wawrinka will win in the end. Don't want to guess on the number of sets tho, could be anything!

Wawrinka is an experienced veteran with a very complete game.

I don't think he would choke out this early in a match.

I expect the Swiss to come out in 4 sets.

Would like the kid to win, but Stan is showing some pretty good form. Waw in 3

01-17-2011, 07:08 PM
If both play well it should be an entertaining match.

Wawa in 4.

If Dimitrov takes this one (even in 5), its time for the big league.

This is one match I wish hadn't happened - at least this early. Really torn on this one. I guess I'll lean a bit to the future of the game and say Dimitrov, though I feel like I'm being a traitor to Wawa -lol

Stan should win comfortably...that being said, I hope the young guy can make it interesting.

01-17-2011, 07:58 PM
Interesting one with Lundgren being the common factor. He knows Dimitrov's game inside out so that will certainly help Wawrinka's causes... but at the same time, Grigor has matured a great deal with success coming left and right for him of late. Would love for this match to go the distance if only for the single handed backhand aspect of it. :toothy:

Stan seems to be really motivated this season, so I predict he wins in 5.

01-17-2011, 08:06 PM
wawa should have to much for him ..however grigor loves the big stage and does have a couple big scalps

but still stan in 4

01-17-2011, 08:26 PM
Stan in 4...this would be a big win for Grigor but Stan will be way too much for the guy

01-17-2011, 08:44 PM
oh yeah there's the whole Peter Lundgren connection too....for some reason I can't stand that Swede so I hope Dimi wins!!

01-17-2011, 09:47 PM
Oh please, Dimitrov who? Wawrinka is the reigning Chennai AND Casablanca champion, a feat no one else has achieved before. Nuff said.

01-18-2011, 03:13 AM
Get ready for it...

01-18-2011, 04:14 PM
Dimitrov doesn't care what champion he is, he took 1 set from Nadal and almost had taken out Simon. I hope he'll make good match!

01-18-2011, 04:16 PM
I hope to see Federer vs Grisha in the quarter-finals!!

01-18-2011, 05:33 PM
I hope to see Federer vs Grisha in the quarter-finals!!

Who doesn't. It's a long f**kin way.

01-18-2011, 05:34 PM
Go Dimi in 4 Go

01-18-2011, 05:35 PM
Wawrinka in 4.

01-18-2011, 06:07 PM
Probably Wawrinka in 3 or 4, too much experience in GS and too complete game. Dimitrov must gather the experience gradually and R2 after qualies should be awesome for him and his further career

01-18-2011, 06:08 PM
Shame I won't be able to see this one, has all the ingredients for a classic.

01-18-2011, 07:22 PM
I hope to see Federer vs Grisha in the quarter-finals!!

+ 1
