How about David? I actually had a Jewish friend named that in high school.

David is overused for Jewish boys I think :p

Although this reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly hot guy I loved for years was named David... I'm friends with his little sister who is a freshman at Syracuse now... we call her my Mini-Me... anyways... he's gorgeous and he has the hugest most beautiful Jewish nose I've ever seen.

Adam is naming the million sons he wants. :cuckoo:Hmmm...French and Spanish, eh? Unusual combination. Are there issues related to his ethnicity...or was that just background info? Is it more like trying to work out vRelationship issues...or a very real one...of whether to meet up with him when you venture to RG?

As for Adam and his sons, the more male names he picks out...increases his likelihood of never needing them. ;) Maybe he ought to work on the female side of things too. On my end, I'm more fond of traditional and formal names like Matthew, Christopher and Stephen that often have a shorter, common nickname (Matt, Chris, Steve). For girls, I'm much more picky and don't like many of the current ones in favor. From way back, I've always liked Laura (from Little House on the Prairie), Elizabeth and Catherine. But those are just me...and for what it's worth, none of the names I'm mentioned are what we've picked out for AP. ;)

Two of my choices were Va Tech (long before anyone else had ever heard of the Vicks or the Hokies) and NC State. The only southern school I applied to was UNC Chapel Hill and I was waitlisted and eventually denied... then on the northern trek was American, then U. of Delaware (my safety school I had no intention of attending), Villanova, Boston U. and then Syracuse.

Of course the girl who hates snow picked the school with the most of it... but the superiority of the communications school could not be denied, which is why it was my first choice and I'm here.

Plus besides Chapel Hill (and this year Villanova), we have the best sports up here :p

The city is fairly large.. one of the most sprawling cities in the country I think... the school has around 12-14K students, you could walk to class except I live on South Campus which provides buses to Main Campus... some of the dorms are kind of far from the main area...

One or two things yes, but the rest I feel are legitimate concerns he hasn't addressed. Then apologize for those (if you haven't already) and make a soft plea for the others to be answered. If he ignores them, then...perhaps it's time for you to but it behind you first.

Have you ever read the Mars/Venus book? At least I think that's the one I'm remembering...about how to 'write' a letter about an issue. Start with words of endearment (I like/love you, Our friendship is special, etc.), then cite the actual act/action, tell how is made you feel (hurt, sad, depressed, confused, lonely, etc.), then give a plan-of-action. "I need you to (do)...."

Kinda touchy feely but seems to make sense. Praise first, then (essentially) constructive criticism followed by a path/plan out of the abyss.

Ok..Dr. Phil...I'm coming for your job!!! I need a new daytime/part-time gig!

Plus besides Chapel Hill (and this year Villanova), we have the best sports up here :pCarolina (supposedly) has a great journalism school so :yeah: for trying to get in. Part of what killed you was being out-of-state. The entire University of North Carolina system is VERY geared to edu-ma-cating home-grown students. They let darn near every in-state applicant in...but then do their darndest to kick 'em all out. At first, I thought the policy crazy but saw it really work in practice. It really gave the kids who goofed off (or were bored in their rural classrooms) and opportunity to succeed.

Carolina (supposedly) has a great journalism school so :yeah: for trying to get in.

Yup, I'm pretty sure to be let in from out of state as a white female I would have had to be INCREDIBLE.. lol.. and I'm not. One of my good friends got in the year after me with similar grades to me, but she's of a minority group which I'm sure gave her a bit of a boost I didn't have. I was the only person in my school to even get waitlisted.. everyone else was flat out rejected... so I always have that bit of honor :p lol.

I was just proud of myself that they *almost* considered me... That was my reach school... I would have loved the weather down there. It's my only rejection though, so I still get a little bitter.

I was just pullin' your leg a bit. My college sweetie was from North Canton (NOT Akron, mind you) so I know all too well about the Ohio schools. His sister was a Buckeye and his father went to Kent State. How he ended up in NC I'll never know.

:scared: This is my first "real" relationship. And he doesn't like praise at all.

And "real"? I thought he was French...and in France. Maybe not? Have you met yet?

 I applied and was accepted at Miami but have never once stepped foot on their campus. OU is their main rival (best uni in the state if you ask me :p ). I've only been to Akron once and thought it was nicer than I expected. ;)

No college sweetie for me. I'm a little slow at this thing called love. :o

He's only French because he was born in France, where he lives. His entire family is from Spain.

No, I've never met him.

No college sweetie for me. I'm a little slow at this thing called love. :oEh...I only had the one and can count all my "relationships" on one hand. And I almost never "dated". Too many guy "friends" I suppose.

I know it's hard...and you want to choke people to tell you to be patient so my advice is a bit different. First, tell anyone and everyone you know...you're 'looking.' That means men and women too. Women have brothers, friends, co-workers and love to play matchmaker. And (true) male friends will only hook you up with 'good' guys.

Second, do what it takes to have confidence in yourself...mind and body. Get an education, start working out. It's not so much about self-esteem (I hate that buzz word) but you've got wake up every morning and look in the mirror and say...I'm worth it!

Finally, do the things YOU enjoy (rather than perhaps trying to find/learn a hobby that men tend to gravitate to). Even if it's the quilting club...again, they're women...who know men. And if nothing pans out, at least you will have found a thing/hobby of enjoyment.

I already have the digital package. Yes, they are ridiculously expensive but hubby loves it. And it's also because of hubby that I have to stick to cable. He doesn't like satellite where I can have the TTC.

There is one in my area providing HDTV which carries TTC but I can't remember the name exactly. :banghead: I'm not sure DirectTV in my area has TTC or not. But I really, really hate Cox not providing TTC here.

I'm ridiculously shy. All my friends from high school and college have moved far away and all the ones in England are still there. So I haven't even met any new friends in like about 4 years. :o

Around here there are no single men. I didn't know any at all until about 2 weeks ago I found one of my coworkers who had moved in with his girlfriend had broke up so he's back living with his mother. All the single women I know are "older" and have been divorced at least once.

I play tennis cause I love the sport, but again, the round robins are single sex only (men and women don't even play the same night  ) and most of the lessons are like that too. The only unmarried person without children I've met there was a brash woman who ended up getting transferred to the Windsor/Reading area of England (lucky lady!). All the women talk about their husbands/children before, after, and sometimes even during the matches. They never ask me about my life and I feel like a sore thumb or something. :help:
