Grigor Dimitrov in 2011

Bulgaria

As we have a new forum for Grigor we can finally post in different threads, not only in one as we've done so far!!! This thread I create for the upcoming 2011 season where we can share our thoughts and everything else about Grigor!!! I will try to update the first page constantly.

I wish Grigor all the best in 2011, at least one ATP title and of course a lot of wins vs the top players and not only.

Current Ranking: 105

Next tournaments:

5th Feb: Rotterdam qualies
12th Feb: Marseille qualies
19th Feb: Dubai qualies

Grigor withdrawed Chennai today and won't start the 2011 season in India as we expected. That is quite strange by the way. In really makes me wonder why did he do that. Chennai had very good list for an youngster to start the ATP season. I don't want to think if he withdrawed because he got some suspension and we still don't know.

that is weird and i cant think of a reason why he would...

chennai really did have a great entry list for him

Bulgarian sources claim that Grigor is going to play Sydney starting from qualifying on the week before the Slam. That means he is not going to play qualies for the Aussie Open anyway. Sydney is ATP 250 and there is no qualifying list so we cannot be sure whether this is true.

The source have no idea what they are talking about. Grisho is in the entry list of Syndey and Auckland and still he didn`t withdrew from any of them. Probably he will play Sydney but its not official. Also if he must play qualies for the Aussie Open, he will play. The source is ridiculous. Just dont trust them.

Possible scenario: Grisho will play Sydney if he is in the Main Draw of Aussie Open. If he must play qualies then he will skip the Sydney (or Auckland) tournament

Happy New Year to all Grigor fans!!! Let's hope we will have an amazing tennis season and Grigor will keep on climbing in the rankings and win an ATP tournament in 2011. I know it's a big wish but the dreams can become a reality. :)

Grigor's chances for direct AO MD spot are getting smaller and smaller every day. Most of the players from top 100 are playing this week, no one except Gonzalez and Ferrero withdrawed so far from the list and Mayer who isn't in any entry list those two weeks prior to AO and Benetteau are maybe his only chances. Most probably Grigor will start the new season next week in AO qualies as a second seed. Good Luck and let's hope for an easy draw.

Grigor will play qualifications in Rotterdam, Marseille and Dubai.

-In Rotterdam, he is 20th and he should play them, but there are a lot of dangerous opponents- Mathieu, Ilhan, Clement, Haase, Stepanek, Stakhovsky, De Bakker
-In Marseille, Grigor is 15th in the qualifications and most of the players I mentioned to play in Rotterdam will play in France, too.
-He'll also play Dubai qualies. He is 15th there.

But I hope, he can get in Top 90 before these tournaments start, as he will play at Australian Open and then he'll start from Johannesburg Main Draw, so he can be seeded in the qualies of the tournaments above.

I also see Grigor playing Indian Wells and Miami, because the draw is for 128 players and I think, he'll get in directly.

So, this should be Grisha's schedule for February and March. He doesn't have to defend any points, so he can only add. I wish, he gets in Top 70 before the start of the clay season. It's an achievable goal. GO GRISHA! :worship:

any idea about his schedule for clay season?

Nobody knows anything about his schedule except his team!!! We can only follow the entry lists and see where did he enter. He doesn't have any official site or facebook or twitter account and inlighten his fans for his next tournaments which I still find for very odd. I still don't get his schedule for this year. He doesn't enter in any challengers, withdrawed Chennai and Johannesburg and plans to play 1 tournament for the whole january. How is it going to happen without playing so few I just don't know? I still think that he doesn't have to concentrate on ATP's only. He could of play a challenger next week. There are very good ones and they give good points. But they do decide and hopefully it's for the best!!!

Today Grigor gave the prizes and the cups for the winners of the Bulgarian U16 indoor junior championship. The winners were Vilian Petrov and Julia Terziyska. Those two are one very good tennis players and with proper management and training they could achieve alot. Wish them of doing this.

So what does this mean, he will skip the Davis Cup for playing Indi? I thought Indi starts on 7 March whereas Davis Cup is 4-6? Even so could be impossible to move for 1 day from Belarus to California

They played once with David and Grigor lost - last year on a challenger. Besides Guez is playing in front the home fans and had just won one challenger title two weeks ago, which means he is in good shape.

Grisho lost his rhythm last week with the match with Gasquet and now a thought opponent in the first round...
