I need a sun lamp really badly, lol. Since at this point I know I won't see the sun again until April or so.

I'll give you a fact about me. Wimbledon this year was the only time I've worn anything with long sleeves for about the last year. And that was only because we were sleeping outside. I love t-shirts and short sleeve shirts :p

I'm a hardened Scot, I can cope with a bit of cold.

At uni in December last year, there was an amazing amount of snow. The street I live on is filled with students, and there was the most awesome snowball fight at like 3am. I went out wearing slippers and boxers shorts, and it went on till like 7am. It was truly, truly fantastic :D

I'll tell you why I don't like it....Basketball is so unexciting until the last 5 mins. 2/3 points is so unvaluable, when there are like 200 points in a game. You can't get the same adreline rush you get from football when your team scores a goal. Just my opinion  I suppose we'll have to let you have yours, even if it is hugely flawed :ras:

Well they decided they were leaving us in 2004 I think. BC, V-Tech and Miami left the Big East. When we played BC at home in football last year (and I think we won) a rousing chorus of A-C-C SUCKS filled the Dome. :) We understand V-Tech and Miami leaving because it makes sense for them to be in a more southern conference where they can play in-state rivals. BC was the one that really hurt people because what are they doing playing all those southern teams that are so far away from them, plus they were a founding member of the Big East. Anyway, this is the first year where they aren't a part of our conference at all.

The ACC basically wanted a good football conference, and the Big East filled the spots with Louisville and Cincinnati and we're going to be the powerhouse basketball conference.

If I get a haircut before Halloween I might dress up as Bjorn Borg to answer the door. No one would get it. They'd be like... why is this scary girl holding a tennis racquet, wearing tight shorts and wearing a headband. But maybe one of their parents would know, and I would feel fulfilled.

Sarah what book are you doing for English lit?
This year, i'm doing like a million. It's a synoptic paper, so i have to read a spread of about 5 or 6 WW1 novels, anthologies of poems and a couple of plays and quote them from memory in the exam. What fun d: Othello is the Shakespeare play, that's next term though.

Haha, i knew someone would pick up on it (: I DO like them though, it's a good way of assessing knowledge. I prefer it to Science form questions of assessing logic, but hey that's just me.
Subjective studies are hard :( I've never met a teacher who liked my sense of interpreting things "subjectively", so I've been always "bad" at it :p I'm not that strong at scientific stuff either though  :o

 I wasn't too bad at English Lit. We did Macbeth for GCSE, it was ok actually. It was a possibility for me to do for A Levels but I decided against it.

I took it three times and I still don't love it. I can tolerate it and I can do it, but I definitely do not like it. Part of the reason is that the first 2 years I took it, my teacher was a jerk who didn't like me. When I took it in college my teacher was a grad student who clearly had a crush on me, but I still didn't like it.

The education system in Hong Kong was pretty sick at that time and my high school did not teach Calculus  . But I liked to study Maths in college so I had a private tutor taught me during the summer vacation before I started 'matric' in September. Hong Kong follows UK's system and there's only 2 years in what's equivalent to senior high and then 2 years in 'matric' (a mix of final year of senior high and first year of uni) before you could apply for University, which was 3 years. The tutor was great and I caught up with what was not taught during my 2 years in senior high in 2 months ;)

Jews shouldn't be celebrating Halloween!

I think I'm going to a Halloween Ball, I'll be going in my tux. I've had requests to wear a kilt but I'm not sure I trust enough of my mates when they're drunk not to start lifting it up :p

:rolls:

If I get a haircut before Halloween I might dress up as Bjorn Borg to answer the door. No one would get it. They'd be like... why is this scary girl holding a tennis racquet, wearing tight shorts and wearing a headband. But maybe one of their parents would know, and I would feel fulfilled.

*sigh* Nothing major. It's just that Novak hasn't played a main draw match since the USO. He had to pull out of qualifying in Vienna because of his leg and then had the rotten luck of drawing Karlovic in the first round of Madrid qualifying. So he hasn't played much at all lately and having Mello in the first round, he actually has a chance to even win a match and I was just really really excited about today.

And of course, no one has talked about Djokovic for weeks on here and the most exciting day of my week comes, Novak's return to finally playing some tennis, and the haters come a flocking. *sigh* And I just don't need that today because I was very excited for him to be playing again.

Pox on the haters. I mean we all have our favorites, but that's no reason to rain on someone's parade.

 :yeah:

I feel somewhat calmed down now... but I mean, so much for Novak depends on this tournament and he has the potential to do decently here so I'm just very anxious and I did not need to deal with Djoko-Hate today. I mean, he needs to win a few matches to make sure he stays in the top 100 so he doesn't have to qualify for the AO. *sigh* A wildcard or something would have been nice at some point this year, but I'm not bitter. He got experience.

Is he playing now, Jess? Shall we pop over to OOP together?

EDIT: Just checked, he's not on til much later.

Yeah... lol not yet. Around 4-ish EST I assume.

I was very impressed with him at the USO. I was susprised the TV showed as much of him as they did. I think he has lots of potential...even if he has to suffer a bit in the earlier stage. I happen to think that's better than just springboarding to the top so quickly. Let's them develop their minds along with their bodies and skills.

Morning Jess. I too loved Calculus! I was a math minor in college and took 3 and 1/2 years of calculus. But do I remember anything now? And what is it used for?

I know I know I know. Keep our fingers crossed when our kids start on Calculus in high school, all this will be back.

:wavey: Everybody.

I loved calculus too although I am a BA economist. Chemistry was the one subject I never understood. :D

I love Chemistry too but I boiled the conc. sulphuric acid during a lab test. :o :o :o

I did sooooo bad in chemistry. :( It was by far my worst science. I generally did well in the sciences even if I didn't like it very much.. but I was lucky to get through chemistry with a somewhat acceptable grade.

 Luckily the only science I had to take in college was this complete nonsense course "Science in the 21st Century".. it was listed under Physics, and it was ridiculously easy since I had already had physics in high school. My lab group was very happy I was there,

The #1 rule in chem lab is never boiled the acid. :p It's a very strong acid and is used in lab to do most tests on compounds and determine what's the ingredients in it. It very dangerous because it will cause severe burn if contact with skin or whatever surface.

The camera on my phone is one of the best around, its extremely good quality I'm led to believe. My digital camera is in London, but I might be going back at the weekend if I can get tickets for the big footy match, so if I do you can have a "digital camera quality pic". I look beautiful in all pictures anyway, but I'll satisfy your fussyness :p

Good luck with the tennis :yeah:
