I think Soderking will take this in 3 sets.

Soderking in 2.

Robin in 2, methinks. Simon is simply not a good enough pusher to threaten Soda. Unless Robin has a horrible day, that is.

Soderling in 2. Simon doesn't have a shit to trouble him. I saw them 2 years ago in some indoor tournament and Soderling just beat his ass.

Soderling should definitely win this in straights.

Soderling in 2 relatively easy sets for this one. Simon is getting his mojo back, but he's still not quite there.

Mind, Simon is the superior player overall. :)

Soderling because this court actually looks like it's suited for him.

1.Indoors - check
2.Serve bites the court really nasty - check
3.On court speed relatively slow with a "friendly" bounce - check

Plus, Simon looked horrendous in his Golubev match.

Mind, Simon is the superior player overall. :)Uh, no. Simon wins 250s but his slam results are simply terrible. He's got nothing on Soderling.

Simon is most definitely a Top15 player. But let's not forget that Soderling is ranked 5th atm and not particularly playing his best tennis. So there you have it.

He's got nothing on Soderling.

A plan B maybe? More career titles? Foot speed?

A plan B maybe? More career titles? Foot speed?Plan B? Which one is that? He's a pusher through and through.
Yes, he's won 2 more titles than soderling (yay for 250s :rocker2:). Soderling has way more finals though. Soderling also has a higher career high ranking. In fact, that Simon has been as high as #6 is a joke considering his slam results - but in 2008 he was really tearing it up the 250s.
His foot speed? Sure, it is better than Soderling's but it's not nearly as big a weapon on the tour as Robin's power.

But as I said, slam results are what really counts in the tennis world.

if it's the truth, what's left for Simon?I don't know. Simon is a good player, definitely a top 20 one, but his slam results surprise me. Is it the best of 5 format that he can't handle?

it's the good in-form players that he can't handle.

And Soderking has a better forehand and backhand, as well superior results on every surface bar grass which is similar.

Soderling's results on grass look superior as well IMO.

Horrible match-up for Simon. Soderling should win this relatively comfortably if he can play a half-decent match.
