Nalbandian was on the wrong side of one of the biggest chokes of the last decade when he led 4-2 against Marcos Bagdartis to take a straight sets win and advance to his second grand slam final, against Roger Federer.
Federer didn't play brilliantly in that tournament to be fair, and even in the final he was down 1 set and Marcos had chances to be up 2 sets to 0. I still think Fed would have won from 2 sets down but anyway.
Cliffs;
David would have been fresh and very fit to take on Roger had he won that 3rd set.
David had recently come from 2 sets to 0 down to beat Roger in the final of the 2005 TMC. No doubt Fed was injured in that match, but mentally David would have been at his best.
David has the game to trouble Fed.
I dont personally think David would have won the 2006 AO, but I think he definately blew one of his better chances. Fatigue cost him the 2002 Wimbledon tournament. What do you guys think? Nalbandian is just so frustrating!
