You gotta wonder what Clement got from Verdasco to fold like that and give Fiasco his 2nd win since the OPEN!!

Pathetic match!!

Clément played a horrible match that closes a horrible season. Maybe he should follow Dent before getting ridiculed too much.

He needs a final, if the info on this forum is correct.

Clement had 160 minutes yesterday, ran out of gas today. At the same moment Verdasco woke up, thus the dramatic shift.

Would have thought a French tournament would have been kinder to Clement in scheduling.

I'm tired of reading this. People don't run on gas.

lol what a waste of time watching this one

Clement cant serve, cant return, volley or put away easy balls

Nando colud not hit an ocean before Clement started to give him loopy moonballs into his striking zone

woke up?

are you serious mate?

Clement gifted the set with 2 consecutive DF-s and pathetic serve %...he colud not even put 100 kmh kicker in
Nando did not wake up...he was just putting away balls which landed near the service line

He has 3150 point, Roddick has 3485. (The difference is 335 point.) If Roddick can't win a match, he has 3495, Nando with SF 3510. But Roddick can beat Nieminen and Gulbis too ---> You are right, Fer needs final.

Yes, that was a gift, but Verdasco actually started putting the ball in court from around that moment to the end of the match. 1st set he was an errormachine.

Of course, Verdasco basically had no pressure for the rest of the match too, since Clement was cooked. Chicken or egg?

Monf will hopefully take care of Verdasco next

long as he's not in exho mood.

All serve mug? wtf are you talking about, Fer has the highest number of double faults in the entire top 100, and his main weapon is his forehand.

Nando keeps hope of WTF alive. the Race is not officially over.

Schedule wasn't very kind to a guy pushing 33 in fairness to Clement.

Bit of a mugfest. Nando's mind is already on the close season.

Verdasco was 6-3 3-1 down against 33 year old Clement

9 double faults by verdasco.

At least he has become consistently shit.

Blackbriar
11-09-2010, 04:22 PM
9 is not a huge stat for Fiasco, he can be much more prolific. when there are tiebreaks involved he can go well beyond the 10 :)

Clement had Nando against the ropes, couldn't close the match and then the Spaniard cruised

The scoreline pretty much is indicative of the type of match this was. Verdasco's hopes still alive for WTF.

:haha: this match was horrible! Neither played well. Verdasco finally stopped missing routine shots in the middle of the second set, and from then on, it was Clement's turn to play like garbage :spit:

Bear in mind that the cam angle makes it look worse than it is

The ball travels much faster than it looks and often the players (especially the ones stepping on this court for the first time) have problems adjusting their movement and shots.

This happened to Verdasco who needed 1,1/2 sets to adjust and then it was the massacre it would be almost anywhere at any time.
Same was with Monfils who started 1-5 against Becker and then got his timing right.

So VErdasco's tennis in last 10 games was awesome and it wasn't from Clement changing anything (and the guy played an over par match), but Fernando adjusting.

Last set Verdasco beats the crap out of last set Monfils in my book.

Then which ones will show up is yet to be seen.
