Utter serving contest first two sets, neither reading the other's serve at all - Flopez had 28 aces in those first two sets alone.

Then, 2nd set tiebreak, Flopez doublefaults away the set.

Clement holds opening game of next.

Flopez serves, 15-15.

Doublefault.

Doublefault.

Doublefault.

:wavey: :confused: :eek::smash::help::retard:

Captain of the mug squad.

That was the only break of the match. Flopez didn't have a single bp himself, so probably didn't deserve to win. Clement was kicking the serve to his backhand constantly, chip return, easy volley winner.

Had LaLo MP?

I've just seen the progress of the match, LaLo hadn't any match point but he was 11 times two points away from victory (4 times at 5:4, 3 times at 6:5 and 4 times in the tie-break: 5:4, 5:5, 6:6, 7:7) :crazy:

In the 1st set Clement had one set point, at 7:6 in TB.

You're wrong.. That would be Verdasco. He double faults WAY more than Lopez.

That's true, but never this critically. Doublefault to give away 2nd set, and 3 in a row to give away the only break of the match.

Winner of this match plays Verdasco himself btw :-)

Uhm.. What about the SF of AO 09? Or what about EVERY other match on crucial points? He does it, A LOT. Last match he did it, and the match before that. He is the king of double faults, and yes.. Lopez double faulted badly this match, but I've still seen worse, many times, from Verdasco.

Poor ending to a pretty decent year for F-Lo, outside of the US Open, his results have been light the past months. His overall record is very similar to where it usually is, right around .500. Guess he'll never take the next step forward. Today he was playing well, serving effectively, being effective behind it, but completely faltered at the end of the second set tiebreaker and third set with his serve. Only served 26% in the third set.

Arno played a decent match, simple and effective, and competed well. This was a must win match for him, happy to see him fighting for this victory.

:spit: Lopez is really horrible :lol: worst backhand since Rusedski. No one should ever be aced that many times by Clement :rolls: Well done to the little old man though!
