Roddick and Roger's record is uniqe because their credentials as Slam champions and former world number 1, as well as the fact it involves so many huge occasions. The vast majority of those results are from Slam Finals, Slam Semis and Masters finals and Semis. Few Q here and there.

It's interesting match-up result and also a candidate too. Both Roddick and Muster has 1 grandslam( and former no 1 too),but Roddick has many grandslam finals( 3 Wimbledon Finals , 2 USO Finals ,1 title ) while Muster has 1 final (1 FO final, 1 title).Morever I think 20-2 record is harder to achieve than 10-0 record, though 10-0 seems more impressive.

Becker - Edberg (25-10). The strange thing is that Edberg has a 2-1 lead in Wimbledon Finals and 3-1 overall at slams.

lol

Gilbert wasn't neither close . 16 matches, neither one breaker , Gilbert won just 2 sets but he lost third smoothly both times . Brad enjoyed Lendl's match-up :)

Rafael Nadal vs The Rest Of Spain

I remember that Muster used to beat up on all the spaniards as well. What is it about spanish players worshipping the reigning clay court master? ;)

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.I wasn't watching back then. What was it that made Bog such a tough match up for Gerulaitis?

How about Martina Navratilova 33-1 vs Zina Garrison.

Zina's only win came at '88 US Open QF. 6-4 6-7 7-5.

Zina only ever won 5 sets, including the one win.

Includes 7 finals ('90 Wimbledon most notably) & 14 Semis.

Ouch.

I may be confusing my facts, but wasn´t Gerulaitis the one who said "No one defeats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row" or something like that? Meaning that he got at least 1 win against Borg. Again, i could be wrong:cool:

I think he said that after beating Connors (hilarious then that he had two 16 loss streaks on the go?).

Oh, I see, then here we have another one, Connors-gerulaitis. Poor guy, he was a punching bag for top players
In his defense, those yop players were actually legends of the game, but still awful record:o

In similar vein to the other thread, 53-0 is pretty impressive, no?
http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=F324&oId=0
...and it's going to be 54-0 in a few days too.

In seriousness though, as has been already mentioned, Borg's 16-0 against Gerulaitis is highly impressive even if the Wimbledon semifinal of 1977 was a very tight one (8-6 in the fifth set)

roger has lost 173 career matches

24 matches ost were against lefties- 14 of those losses were against rafa

that means only he only has 10 losses to lefties apart from rafa

nadal has never won a title on carpet and is 2-6 on the surface- surely the worst record for a world number one on any surface in the history of tennis

even sampras had an acceptable record on clay
