Basel R2: Gasquet d. Kamke 6/4 7/5

Richard lead 3-0 in first set, and Tobias cameback. Richard lead 5/3, serving for the match, and gloriously double-faulted 2 times to allow Tobias to comeback. He needed (only) 2 match points to close the match. The crowd was cheering for Richard until 5-3, then they get quite irritated and they were for the german. Everyone was relieved when it was finally over.

I have not seen the guy who defeated Berdych play today. flury of unforced errors, doublte-faults, ugly match. On the other side, Richard was barely seeable between the line judges thanks to his usual defensive tactics...

This defensive tactics is pure suicide, and I know it all comes from Deblicker bullshit old-school pre-war tennis. When does Ritchie going to get rid of this idiot?

Allez Gasquet!! :woohoo:

Bad game when serving for the match at 6-4 5-3, but he got it done at the end!

Richie's hold at 3-3, 0-30 in the 1st set was important after Kamke had won 3 games in a row.

Allez!! :yeah:

Ritchie showed some of his magic, mostly on his serve, but only shined at times. Hen needs to play really better to beat Troicki, no doubt.

Seriously Kamke? You play by far the best match of your life last night and you back it up with this shit?

Did you care to watch or are just writing blabla?

No need to be derisive versus Kamke, just because he trashed Berdych. :p

I watched the match and Thierry Ascione was commenting the match on french TV, and he said exactly the same thing: Richard could have won much more easily, if he had come to the net and be more offensive. I am sure it's all Deblicker fault, and a bit of lack of confidence. He must be much more aggressive tomorrow to stand a chance, then he can beat Troicki for sure :)

Kamke was absolutely demolished by Gasquet's FH moonballs. If this guy and Berankis ever get to play Rafa we will see some hilarious stuff.

I think he tried to play exactly the same tennis as against Berdych, but Gasquet makes too much variations to allow this kind of play. Don't be too harsh with guy, it is only his first year in top 100 and he won 250+ more ranking spots in a single year

No need to be derisive versus Kamke, just because he trashed Berdych. :pHe thrashed Berdych by playing insane tennis though, I really expected him to back it up.

Coke got lucky once again. End of the line (pun intended) for him against Troicki.
