The player who, based on his ranking move in 2010, has made the biggest impact on the ATP World Tour.

ATP Nominees (Ranking 31/12/2009 and 11/10/2010)
Richard Berankis (320/114) - Improved career high to 106 (Sep) from 320 (Dec 09)
Thiemmo de Bakker (96/47) - Improved career high to 40 (Jul) from 93 (Nov 09).
Alexandr Dolgopolov (131/55) - Improved career high to 39 (Jul) from 131 (Dec 09)
Tobias Kamke (254/72) - Improved career high to 72 (Oct) from 174 (Jul 08)

My Nominees
Kevin Anderson (161/60) - Improved career high to 58 (Oct) from 95 (Jun 08).
Grigor Dimitrov (288/112) - Improved career high to 112 (Nov) from 255 (Sep 09)
Michal Przysiezny (183/100) - Improved career high to 87 (Jul) from 183 (Dec 09)
Mikhail Kukushkin (132/58) - Improved career high to 58 (Nov) from 131 (May 08)

Would like to include Farah (unranked to 191) but he hasn't played on the ATP tour yet.

Dolgopolov was the most memorable for me.

I also voted Dolgopolov, but am unclear on what is defined as a newcomer. Some of the players in the poll have floundered in the 100-300 range for several years before having a more impressive 2010 season. Great call on Kevin Anderson in your added player list, as I had no idea that he had started his 2010 at #161 before rising over 100 spots.

De Bakker has started his great rise in the first months of 2009, the year in which he bumped from #256 to #96, so he's not a 2010-newcomer, although he's a player I love to watch

Dolgopolov is the sole choice here. Dimitrov and Berankis are great young players, but they are now playing only challengers, so we need to see how they play on the ATP tour

It is quite tough to distinguish the newcomer from the most improved player tbh :)

I voted for Dolgo in the most improved part, so here I will vote for Kamke.

Berankis, de Bakker, Dolgopolov, Anderson, Dimitrov were at least known to be talented. But when I saw Tobias Kamke on #88 - I was like  wtf ?

I don't see Raonic as an option..

Hmm, Fixopolov doesn't deserve a vote, I'll go for De Bakker.

I'll just say Dimitrov for the hell of it. Probably isn't going to happen, but won't matter to me.

Why doesn't de Bakker have ATP profile?

Milos Raonic on March 22 2010 was ranked 425.

Now, he is ranked 157.

It's a shame the ATP has to announce the nominees before the season is over because Mikhail Kukushkin, given his St Petersburg title last week, could have been considered. The 22 year old from Kazakhstan is now ranked 58 and he began the year at 132. Improving his career high from 131 (May 08) to his current ranking.

affirmative. he definitely could have been considered.

kukushkin has had the hot hand lately. at the current rate of progress, i think he makes top 30 in the next 6 months.
