It was a closed match where Mannarino hesitated on the 7th game of the last set and Isner took advantage of it. It was a shame as Adrian could had win it and he should learn to keep the concentration the whole match long, especially against a player like Isner.. Congrats for Isner though.

Typical day in the office from Isner  :) Should have been in straight sets - Isner led 5:2 in the 2nd tie-break.

Got to feel for Mannarino so much! I believe Isner hit 1st serves on all of the 6 Break Points he faced! Mannarino really didn't do wrong on any of them! In fact he might of only got into 1 rally when having a BP!

Should really have been straight sets for Isner, had **5-4 in the 2nd tiebreak and produced two second serves, and two errors.

it was a great week for Adrian, one of the best of his career so far. 2 matchs wins in qualif.,1 victory against world n°75 and a big match against a top 20 player. he should be proud of his week. I think he enters top 100 monday.

Yeah, nice game by Mannarino today, very solid on serve, attacked tidily off the ground without excessive errors (on this court midspeed midrisk attacking is enough vs Isner).

He was just unfortunate he ran into Isner serving 85%, not to mention 27 aces.

Can't really call the first one an error, Mannarino rifled the return right at his feet. He would have needed an exceptional volley to get out of that point.

Bad luck for Mannarino. Isner was serving like crazy even for his standards but he still had the most opportunities. Of course an opportunity is just that if you don't take it.

Mannarino outplayed him from the baseline the whole time, so a straight sets win for Isner would have been ridiculous. Mannarino should have won the first set as well, but Isner lucked a couple of forehand winners in the tiebreak. :(

Mannarino was just so unlucky in 3rd set

Quite surprised no one has mentioned how well Mannarino returned serve, probably some of the best returning I've ever seen of the Isner serve despite him not being able to break.

along with dolgopolov and berankis, mannarino is a huge prospect.

Mannarino has an excellent serve, and he plays very aggressively, which is needed in today's tennis. hope he will make a great 2011 season, by playing all of the slams and some ATP Tour events too.

Amazing serving from Big John. 27 aces, 82% first serve percentage. 6/6 break points, saving all of them with big serves. He did, however, lose a higher percentage of serve points than Mannarino, 77% to 75%. Adrian was the better player for the most part but John's serve really did the damage, and he hit a few good forehands that helped him win points from the baseline and off return which sealed the win. Entertaining match, congrats to both for putting on a good display.
