Draws are posted. Donald plays Witten in Round 1 a tough one for him IMO. Nishikori is also in the bottom half and probably the favorite to advance to the final. On the top half Sweeting has a favorable draw and should easily get to the Semis where he will probably play Kendrick.

Don's draw would be absolutely amazing had he gotten Kei's seeding, but I don't think his draw is too difficult. Witten isn't a hard draw at this point. Bogomolov and Mcclune are players he should defeat. And Ball has been struggling, Kim I think has a good shot to take him out. Don should make the SF. Kei definitely should make the SF, but the Uni. of Tennessee college kid Smith could prove tough like Shabaz.

Tim v Bobby is a really good R1. Likewise Guccione v Matosevic.

Sweeting has two good rounds but I can definitely see him losing to any of the four potential QF players in his section. Kendrick has the draw to be able to go deep here but fatigue may be a factor for him. I hope Peter can get something done here.

Not a great draw for Tim, but I guess it could have been worse.

Weird. I wonder if he will ever have another chance to get inside the main draw of a Challenger main draw:confused:

The same names every week on the challengers that take place in USA. I guess that the title will finish in the hands of Nishikori, Reynolds, Smyczek, Young, Luczak, Guccione or De Voest.

The Virginia Cavaliers showed what they were amde of last week. Now its the Tennessee Volunteers turn in Knoxville.

Current Vois:

-Tennys Sandgren is in the qualie draw. He has the game to bother some and make a run.

-Rhyne Williams: Probably the most dangerous of the group. Just won a collegiate indoor national tournament this past weekend. This tournament had the very best college players in the country. Williams def. Domijian en route to winning it. He has thg big game to cause trouble. Similiar to Shabaz.

-JP Smith: Senior who has done a lot in his career at Tennessee. Been ranked #1 in college several times. However his game is not as transferable to the pros. Less power and more of a consistent player, although he does have a sneaky good lefty serve. I expect Nishikori to routine him.

-Boris Conkic: Played #2 for the Vols last year and hovered around 30-40 in the college tennis rankings. Decent player but I don't expect him to make much impact here.

and we also have a current Kentucky Wildcat in the draw, Eric Quigley: He has made tremendous strides recently to launch himself into the top 5 in college. I have never seen him play so I do not know his style but his reslts of late have been very impressive. Has a good 1st round draw. But since he is from kentucky and not Tennessee he will not enjoy the same home court advantage the others will soak up.

There's a chance lightning could strike twice, as this week there are several active college players in the $50,000 Knoxville Challenger draw, including National Indoor Champion Rhyne Williams. Williams is joined as a main draw wild card by teammates JP Smith and Boris Conkic. Eric Quigley of Kentucky also received a main draw wild card. Shabaz received a wild card into qualifying in Charlottesvile, meaning he won seven straight matches, but none of the Tennessee wild cards managed to qualify. Eighteen-year-old Yuki Bhambri of India did earn a spot in the main draw, which begins Tuesday. Conkic will play No. 7 seed Carsten Ball of Australia on Tuesday; Williams and Smith will play their opening round matches on Wednesday.

2nd thought some of the far lines look kinda sketchy to over rule. But still shouldn't be that tough should it?? You can tell I'm bored lol!

Peter just can't win a match at this point. Really unfortunate that it's come to this with him, but he should have been playing on clay, not hard.

Sweeting losing to Yani with the form Michael has been in is as bad as it gets. I don't know what has happened to Ryan, but he just doesn't have it. At this point, I don't think that he can be seen as a bright prospect anymore and the USTA should seriously consider supporting other players. He's just not getting the job done.

Bobby is still playing well, not a surprising win from him whatsoever over Tim.

Kendrick, with the form he's been in, should definitely make at least the SF. The draw is very open for him.

True, but he definitely should be ashamed of himself really. He should be embarrassed. Especially since he dominated the first set, that shows me that he obviously has lost the ability to actually win matches. He can't cross the finish line, and as we saw in the third set, he had his chances, and then crumbled. His mental game seems to have reverted right back to the weakness it was, probably because of Matosevic, among a few other things. I just can't believe he's been struggling so badly at his favorite time of the year, every year he does great at this time.

He can still make the AO MD, but he needs to win next week, and then hope for a few withdrawals, and some guys to slip from their rankings. He seems to perform well generally in major Qs, but this end of the season run is definitely going to damage him for an extended period, and he has a lot to defend. Hopefully Kei or Robert win this event now.

Acually, Don and Ryan generally have pretty good performances this time of season. But it's different this season. Kendrick has always done well in US challengers, and usually Don and Ryan do well in them also. But I think the pressure of making the top 100 has gotten to both in a major way, as both are still very mentally immature.

Well, he lost in the WC Playoffs last yr, and Harrison might be in it again this yr, as well as Levine, Sweeting, probably Sock, Kudla, maybe Domijan. There's no guarantee he'll win it.

To me this suggests a change needs to be made. I dont know why he & his parents are so adamant about them being his coach. Havent they considered that maybe they've taken him as far as they can??

Also, that's why I wanted to see him in the Helsinki Challenger, one last chance to earn pts. Wonder if he'll pull out of Champaign like last yr.

Let's be honest. We all know Ryan H. will beat Don if they play. The ATL factor may be his saving grace. I hope he does make it automatically, but if he doesn't the AO playoff would be a nice alternative. He still should be able to beat the other youngsters and Tim, but Harrison is a cut above all of those guys.

Oh yes, he'll lose. Probably a 2nd round exit, there or there about. If he wins he'll be around 110, which is generally right where major events cut off. But quite frankly I don't care anymore, I just want to see him make the AO and go from there. However he makes it is fine with me. I'm actually more disappointed with Sweeting since I can't see any reason why he's been struggling, whereas Don has several.

Fast indoors is probably not his best surface, but he did play a guy who was essentially playing a home event in front of a home crowd, so he had a lot of motivation to do well. This week he has a very easy draw and should do major damage.

someone put a short video from a match of shabaz and harrisson day earlier and 15-20 fans on some balcony i didnt accept like a escuse of losing of some semi pro guy :) i still dont understand how shabaz doing that last week made a final on video he is some little guy around 60 kilos maybe i wrong, who make slices and just putting racket on ball on every exchange just puting ball back surviving ..how he can be so aggressive with that constitution of body to make a final on fast indoor? maybe he is new coria?:) wait a min. the great coria himself is also sucks indoor and he is been wizard with racket...i cant get it i`m still mad of all players that lose that week..some good chalenger players he beat that sure!

I wouldnt be so sure of that. Their H2H is 1-1, plus Harrison's win last yr at the WC Playoffs. Yeah, he's struggling right now, but I think it's a matter of getting good draws. Everybody has bad matchups, and the last few tournaments he's gotten players who he matches up poorly against, records wise.

His H2H against Witten is 1-4, Matosevic, 0-4 or 5, whatever it is.

Kendrick is 5-5.

I also think the fact that players have seen his game for the past 3 yrs plays a part. I'm sure they talk amongst each other about what to do against certain players, and now, 3 yrs after he made his breakthrough, they all have a better idea of how to play him, as opposed to when he 1st started. Of course, you also have to be able to execute whatever plan you have, but I think the familiarity helps.

Guess I was right about him pulling out of Champaign, unfortunately. The xtra pts he could have earned could make the difference between MD and qualies in a tour level event somewhere in the next 12 months.

Anyway, at least he's ahead of where he was last yr, and he does have the AO WC playoffs coming up.

Monroe has got no answers to Niskilori's game.

Really big guy, strong serve as you could see at the stats during the week and has an aggressive game. Really fun to watch, to be honest he should have more results like this one.
