Is there something else you're doing besides crying all day long when all your "favourite" players losing in the early stages every single time? Whats disgusting about this? The clearly better player won... thats it. Ruben played some great tennis last week and he continues to do so this week... hoping for Kavcic to reach anything better than a 3rd round is just stupid. Yes, if my favorites don't win than I could care less about the event and it's annoying and makes me unhappy. I don't care about Bemelmans, I care about Kavcic, so I'm not going to be pleased when the guy I could care less about takes out a guy I'm rooting for. It's not disgusting because Ruben won, but because my fave lost, but you are right, better player on the day won, I've moved on.

Also, hoping for the best possible results from your faves isn't stupid, because that's what a fan is supposed to do, hope for the best. I expect the most out of my favorites, it's disappointing if they lose, but like I said, oh well, that's tennis. I hope for Dustin now!

Kavcic could have gone to Sth America and Cancun with Zemlja, but Voinea wanted him to play these events, thinking about the long term.

That good, and he's close to the top 100 anyway, only a win or two away. If he's going to be a top 50 player he's going to have to be at least average on other surfaces than slow clay.

Also, I love the combo of Kavcic and Adrian Voinea, looking at his career trajectory, Adrian was more of a clay courter but then became a decent player on slower HC, I remember him from doing well at the Aussie Open one year, I forgot the season. Blaz can have a similar career to him.

The words good and Ram cannot be used in one sentence...

Ram may not be spectacular, but he serves very well and is also strong at the net. He also has solid groundies, even though his movement may prevent him from becoming a really strong player from the backcourt. He deserves more respect than you are giving him. He has been playing hurt much of the year, you know.

Brown is a genuinely good player, so yes, i think he will beat ram.

Ram beat Brown at this same tournament last year, and Dustin is essentially the same player now. Provided he is not too fatigued, I'm calling a Ram win. Sijsling would be an even bigger test for Ram in the final.

Ok so it took some time but now I've finally chosen and edited some photos of each player, which I uploaded on my webspace. "Some" means it's a total of 69 photos! Should I really post them all in this thread? I don't want to be called a spammer afterwards. I reduced them in size, so it's less than 5 MB total, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Btw, I was surprised to see how clear Brown won against Herbert. Either Brown must have played a lot better than on Tuesday, or Herbert was simply tired after having played five matches already (inlcuding qualification). Nevertheless, I'm quite sure this wasn't the last time that we've heard of this kid.
And no, I won't be seeing any more matches, because the last days of the tournament are a lot more expensive and you only get to see a few matches, and my favourites are all out already. Would be nice if Brown can win the event, so he'll be qualified for Australian Open most likely.

So, please tell me if it's okay to post all the photos here; I'm still quite new to these forums and don't know how it's handled usually.

Btw good job Dustin, Australian Open spot should be secured :)

There were always Belgian supporters in Aachen yes, but I find it typical for German challengers that foreign players get a very friendly atmosphere against German players. Just compare a final like this to for example Gicquel vs Bohli in France couple of weeks ago, that's a huge difference.
