Why can't the Australian Open be on Network TV? [Archive]

As you know I live in the USA. The 4th round-final coverage is abundant in networks except for this one

French and Wimbledon = NBC
US Open CBS

If AO can be on the MyNetwork affiliates, it would be terrific as they badly need programming and NBC-CBS-FOX is locked into NFL postseason football and have no room for Tennis.
