Hello!

Nadal won US OPEN and increased his leadership @ATP rankings. Is this the biggest advantage in tennis history?

I don't like statistics at all mate :) but it would be nice to know...as I don't remember any player to have almost 5000 advantage :o

With the old ranking system when the points weren`t doubled Federer had like 4000 points advantage over Nadal in 2006

Nadal has 68% more points than the #2 right now. Federer had 92% more points than #2 Hewitt during a few weeks in June 2005.

It's amazing isn't it? People are ALREADY forgetting how dominant Federer was in his prime. I could almost sympathise with Sampras fans.

Didn't Rafa have more points after AO last year than he has now? Think he had 13/14000. Not sure how big the gap between him and Fed was though.

That's sports for you.

There's always something newer and shinier comming along. It happens to everyone, and it will happen to Nadal as well.

 Then you can rejoice.

Nadal lead by 30% back then, Federer had 11k.

Nadal had a 5190 lead over Federer May 11th 2009. Since the point system changed before 2009, I'm pretty sure this must be the record. If we think percentage numbers, it's far from any records. But the current 4880 points gap, may be increased, and we will see a new record.
