CONGRATS RAFA!!! Nole, you fought hard even though it was clear he was tiring :hatoff:

But Rafa, he was relentless, and now he is the 2nd man in history after Agassi to win the career Golden Slam, and becomes the 7th man to win all four majors. :worship: :worship:

born_on_clay, finally there are some achievements to put down under US Open in your thread. :D

Rafa is the youngest to do it. A history record has been done in front of our eyes. In the future we will be talking how great it was to witness this live.

Well Done Rafa on your US OPEN victory and completing the most convincing Career Grand Slam (and Golden Grand Slam) of All-Time , this is the best tennis performance I've ever seen , better than 2008 Wimbledon Final , this US OPEN Final showed a glimpse of your future :yeah:

Wait a second, doesn't the player need to win all of them in the same year like steffi G did in 1988 to call it a career golden grand slam?

unnecessary bump

Unfortunately in this homogeneous court era, winning the 4 slams are not that much of a big deal. Big deal is what Agassi did, in a time where the courts of each slam were radically different

Beijing Olympics win -> Very fast hardcourt
US Open win -> fast hardcourt (before it was slowed down ridiculously in 2011)
Wimbledon wins -> grass, it's grass!! still acts like it and you're required to play really different to other surfaces
RG wins -> Nothing needs to be said, even did it when they fucked up the court/balls in 2011 so that Olderer could win it again...or so they thought
AO win -> Medium hardcourt is a surface you need to be able to play on as well, you can't be diverse if that means 'fast courts only and a clay one'

And he won just about all his titles by beating your precious boy Federer along the way :wavey:

Right.. that is why Muger lost in straights to Djokovic at RG but beat him at Wimbledon 1 month later.

The real Golden Gran Slam is when you win the four GS + Olympics in the SAME year, only Steffi Graff did it.

Calendar and Career are close to eachother, I understand your troubles of understanding this subtle difference.
