Just wait for the haters to barge in and tell us that, for some reason or other, he doesn't deserve it!

But I'll acknowledge that rafa winning wouldn't be as enjoyable without them, poor souls!

Very overrated record. Agassi, Nadal, and Courier were gifted this record. Of course this is nothing compared to the tainting of the career grand slam record if Nadal wins tomorrow, so I'll save my thoughts for that thread.

Oh well, I guess I shouldn't trust wikipedia

Thanks Nadal_Power for this information. I edited the wikipedia page so others won't be misinformed.

If Nadal wins tomorrow, MTF will go to toilet. Can you imagine Rafatards not doing some sort of crazy thing like setting cars on fire or something. hahahaa

How can he be the new GOAT? Federer will still have 16 slams against Rafa's potential 9.

Nadal needs to win at least 2 YEC and reach at least 2 more USO and AO finals to be considered a true all-surface player.

Right now, he's just a slow grass and clay specialist with some success on slow hard courts and one fluke run on fast hard.

Winning 2 GS on hard (if he wins the title tomorrow), 2 GS on grass and 5 GS on clay is enough to be considered a true all-surface player.

But, yeah, we all know that you still prefer your real all-surface players like Becker with true indoor greatness and 0 clay titles, right?

:cuckoo:

Yet another undeserved achievement gifted to Nadal by the ridiculous slowing of the tennis surfaces that has taken place in recent years.

Will you ever produce the slightest clue to your cheating allegation?
How can you be so petty?

fantastic accomplishment by Nadal. amazing how much he has improved.

Courier sticks out here, but it was a bit of a transitional period and he was a great player in his prime.

great to see Edberg here, as he was my favorite player when i was young. :)

Becker almost reached all 4 finals, but Edberg beat him in the 1989 RG SF. :yeah:

Sampras was close, too. lost to Kafelnikov in 1996 RG SF.

Borg and McEnroe would very likely have reached the finals of all 4, but they almost never played in AO, which was a grass court event at that time. McEnroe played in AO only twice in his prime, and Borg only played in it once. It was not 1 of the 4 most important events at the time.

Connors had a very good chance to reach the finals of all 4, but he was not allowed to play in RG a few times in the mid 1970s, i think.

Actually this thread is premature because if Nadal wins the final (what's very likely) he will join to the other group of players

Jimnik

Most players that won 6 or more slams reached all 4 finals. The grass court experts, Becker and Sampras, were unusual although even Boris came very close. Then there's Borg and Connors who don't really count since they didn't attend all 4 majors regularly.

Hewitt once said it's much easier for clay players to adjust to fast courts than the other way round. Looks like his point is well taken now.

I agree with you. The person who said that is a moron.

I'll just say two things..

1. Innocent until proven guilty. Nadal has never been in a cheating/drug scandal, so he has not cheated and he is innocent. Do you really think they don't test the players? LMAO. Of course they do! They would have found out if he was cheating by now.

2. I'm glad I put that idiot with the cheating allegations on ignore. Best thing I ever did.
