because he wants to show he remembers today is September 11th. He is such a special person. He also had a Russian Victory ribbon on May 9th when he played the final on the day of 55th anniversary of victory in II WW. I know Misha does that because it matters a lot to him and really admire him for doing that.

I thought he was wearing the ribbon in remembrance of his tennis ability. It obviously died at some point before the semifinal.

that's really nice, but I've never seen Youzhny play so dumb as I have in this match right now against Nadal. It's like he's throwing it away...

On July 3rd I would wear a black ribbon in remembrance of the 1300 French marine soldiers killed by Churchill in 1940.
And on March 15th I would wear a black ribbon in remembrance of the Julius Caesar assassination. That's normal. I'm rather sentimental.

You surely mean he should have been less greedy, and not taken the bribe that Toni gave him to tank the match?

I'd like to think it's for all victims of terrorism.

I noticed the ribbon and thought it was a lovely gesture. Misha is a history buff, isn't he? I salute him. http://i40.tinypic.com/o9ir2v.jpg :)
