If Youzhny Beats Nadal...

...what will be your reaction?
I know a lot of Nadaltards are already celebrating his US Open win and career slam, so they will be devastated, and most likely go into hiding for a while.

Will you be shocked, surprised, overjoyed, ecstatic, annoyed, angry, happy?

I for one will be very surprised and overjoyed if Mikhail wins.
Very unlikely though it will happen though, but he has a chance if he plays great and Nadal plays average.

Wouldn't surprise me at all.

Already happened in 2006 USO QF.

Shock, followed by elation!

Then disappointment when Roger proceeds to lose to Djokovic.

If Youzhny plays the way he did vs Waw then Nadal in 3. In this US Open Youzhny is yet to show the form of his prime. And Nadal is yet to sink to the form of his past.

If the world ended today is a better title

I can't see this happening to be honest, though upsets are not alien to this sport. One must bear in mind that Rafa is a far more well rounded hard court player than he was in 2006.

If Youzhny does manage to pull it off then I'd be delighted for him but equally disappointed for Nadal that he didn't reach his first US Open final and with it the chance to become the youngest winner of the Career Grand Slam.

I would be pretty devastated. I won't say Nadal's draw was "cheap" but it was ideal. He could make it to the finals again, but probably not with such a trouble-free path. So, I think he really hopes to win quickly today and be extra fresh for tomorrow.

A 5 setter over Murray, Djokovic, or Del Potro would not leave him with great chances in the final, and that's what I think we may see in future years. He can always beat these guys on hard courts, but more often than not, it won't be simple. This is as perfect as it gets. He needs to win today.

I'm be extremely bummed, obviously. But what would irk me more is that with Youzhny in the final, you know he'd have no chance versus either Fed or Djoko, and it'd be like on of those Federer-peak era finals: a foregone conclusion.

Gutted, he'll never have a better shot of making a final here.

I am a Nadal fan and I will be happy for Misha.

I will go into hiding for at least 5 days if Rafa loses to Fed in the final though. THAT celebration of MTF I wouldn't be able to tolerate.

Read the thread title.

It says "If"!

Perhaps you don't know what that word means?

Why would you post it IF he had no chance is a better question?

Nice bad rep, btw.. Hahah
