WWW US Open SF: Nadal vs Youzhny?Dyraise 09-10-2010, 02:55 AM Who will win? Johnny Groove 09-10-2010, 02:55 AM Fedal final. It is in the stars. The Magician 09-10-2010, 02:56 AM Little early  Might as well as have started this thread before the match started, since we all knew who would win. Topspindoctor 09-10-2010, 02:56 AM Rafa in 3. :worship: Youzhless is a huge mug :haha: Arakasi 09-10-2010, 02:58 AM Youzhny won't be able to hurt him. Nadal in 3. ossie 09-10-2010, 02:58 AM rafa in 3 easy sets SheepleBuster 09-10-2010, 02:58 AM I hope Youzhny but it won't happen. He needed 5 sets to beat a crippled Wawrinka. He'll get straight setted. I just don't see how he breaks Rafa. 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 Ibracadabra 09-10-2010, 03:01 AM Misha 6-0,6-1,6-0 Priam 09-10-2010, 03:02 AM Their 06 match seems so long ago now. Nadal in 3. Voo de Mar 09-10-2010, 03:02 AM Nadal, maybe in 4 sets. zeluvaa 09-10-2010, 03:02 AM Easy 3 sets for Nadal, may as well give him a bye to the finals bluefork 09-10-2010, 03:02 AM Please, all I ask is that Youzhny take a set. Somebody needs to give Nadal some semblance of a challenge. The Magician 09-10-2010, 03:03 AM ITF made no mistakes in ensuring Nadull would get to the final. Even made it so he wouldn't lose a set at the USO, quite an accomplishment :o Nadull in 3 7-6(4) 6-2 6-3 Sophocles 09-10-2010, 03:04 AM 2006 Youzhny would still win. 2010 Youzhny will be lucky to take a set. Arkulari 09-10-2010, 03:05 AM ITF made no mistakes in ensuring Nadull would get to the final. Even made it so he wouldn't lose a set at the USO, quite an accomplishment :o Nadull in 3 7-6(4) 6-2 6-3  Rafa in straights, he made easy work of one of the easiest draws in the last years (thank you Murray :D ) Topspindoctor 09-10-2010, 03:05 AM ITF made no mistakes in ensuring Nadull would get to the final. Even made it so he wouldn't lose a set at the USO, quite an accomplishment :o Nadull in 3 7-6(4) 6-2 6-3 No gloating how Murray will "thrash Nadal in SF"? :o Not Rafa's fault Mugray can't even beat low ranked players these days :o bluefork 09-10-2010, 03:06 AM ITF made no mistakes in ensuring Nadull would get to the final. Even made it so he wouldn't lose a set at the USO, quite an accomplishment :o Nadull in 3 7-6(4) 6-2 6-3 Well, to be fair, before the tournament his draw looked like it could have been slightly challenging with Murray/Berdych in the semis. But those guys failed, so... The Magician 09-10-2010, 03:10 AM  Rafa in straights, he made easy work of one of the easiest draws in the last years (thank you Murray :D ) Nalbandian loses. Gulbis loses. Murray loses. Berdych loses. Spaniards in R4 and QF. Del Po, Isner, Davydenko injured. Surely these are all coincidences and Nadal has earned his spot in the final without dropping a set  HarryMan 09-10-2010, 03:12 AM Nadal in three. Nadal is playing at a whole different level than the one Youzhny beat in 2006. This should be either 3 or 4 sets win for Nadal. Persimmon 09-10-2010, 03:12 AM Youzhny. star 09-10-2010, 03:12 AM Excellent bitching and moaning and groaning going on here. I love it.   Speed of Light 09-10-2010, 03:14 AM Youzhny wins 6-4, 4-6, 2-6, 7-6, 6-3. PS: I'm just jinxing him. Sophocles 09-10-2010, 03:15 AM Excellent bitching and moaning and groaning going on here. I love it.   Not as much as you'll love the MASSIVE gloating when Nadal gets his arse handed to him in the final. connectolove 09-10-2010, 03:16 AM Is Youzhny going to get rid of Nadal??? bad gambler 09-10-2010, 03:38 AM I think Nadal will drop a set at least Pfloyd 09-10-2010, 03:41 AM Should be Nadal in 3. Clay Death 09-10-2010, 03:41 AM clay warrior understands the mission quite well actually. youzhny will not be allowed a single set. Clay Death 09-10-2010, 03:42 AM Should be Nadal in 3. manuel the magnificent. affirmative. ZaZoo) 09-10-2010, 03:44 AM Nadal could get trashed in finals for not having tough opponents. born_on_clay 09-10-2010, 03:47 AM Rafa in 3 gulzhan 09-10-2010, 03:48 AM Nalbandian loses. Gulbis loses. Murray loses. Berdych loses. Spaniards in R4 and QF. Del Po, Isner, Davydenko injured. Surely these are all coincidences and Nadal has earned his spot in the final without dropping a set  And you insist they are not? Gulbis lost to Chardy in 1st round. Nalba was in bad form actually, barely made it through De Voest in 5 sets, what did you expect from him? Berdych lost in 1st round too, Llodra was on fire. If there is any conspiracy to blame, it must be the Frenchies! Davydenko and Isner are not threats for Nadal in any case and Delpo could have been on Federer's half. You are already going insane, what will be with you on Sunday if Rafa beats Roger again? God save MTF :help: tennismaster1978 09-10-2010, 03:48 AM Please, all I ask is that Youzhny take a set. Somebody needs to give Nadal some semblance of a challenge. Someone will, his name is Federer! tennismaster1978 09-10-2010, 03:52 AM And you insist they are not? Gulbis lost to Chardy in 1st round. Nalba was in bad form actually, barely made it through De Voest in 5 sets, what did you expect from him? Berdych lost in 1st round too, Llodra was on fire. Topspindoctor 09-10-2010, 03:55 AM Isner could be a threat to Nadal if the conditions were favorable. Not a chance. Isner is overhyped by American media and that recent clown Wimbledon match :o He's all serve like Karlovic. Never going to be a top 10 player. tribalfusion 09-10-2010, 03:55 AM Excellent bitching and moaning and groaning going on here. I love it.   This thread may attain never before reached levels of bitching and sour grapes :) tyruk14 09-10-2010, 03:57 AM Youzhny has a one-handed backhand. So Nadal in three. gbmkc 09-10-2010, 04:08 AM Be serious. Nadal has sailed, through no fault of his or the USTA, but he has sailed into the semis. I've been mildly disgusted by it, but I am determined to be philosophical. He's not losing to Youzhny, who's having a great tournament, and who has had an easy draw himself. If he does, he's a mug. MalwareDie 09-10-2010, 04:09 AM Please, all I ask is that Youzhny take a set. Somebody needs to give Nadal some semblance of a challenge. Youzhny just played a 5 setter and he hasn't won in straight sets since Round 1. I doubt that he will put up much of a fight. pray-for-palestine-and-israel 09-10-2010, 04:56 AM federer's been waiting a long time for some revenge joker is the real challenge federer on a fast hard court? yeah its old fed but its still fed (6 finals in a mother trucking row) nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 04:58 AM If Youzhny wins this its got to be the "beat-down" style performance of bagels and bread-sticks, because if he gives Nadal a look-in I bet Nadal will find a way to turn it around and win through desperation of history. kindling 09-10-2010, 05:05 AM Youzhny's had 2 match on Ashe, everyone else Rafa beat hasn't had any…. May mean nothing, but here's hoping for the best. JediFed 09-10-2010, 05:18 AM Nadal is invincible. He simply cannot lose. :D Sagacious 09-10-2010, 05:21 AM Hopefully Youzhny in 4 :) Manequin75 09-10-2010, 05:22 AM Youzhny's had 2 match on Ashe, everyone else Rafa beat hasn't had any…. May mean nothing, but here's hoping for the best. good point. Thats what I was thinking. He has played two day matches at Ashe. ANd their match is going to be a day match being the first semifinal since Fed-Djo is going to be the marquee matchup which will follow next. However, I dont think Rafa has come this far to lose to this guy. HarryMan 09-10-2010, 05:25 AM It is quite obvious either Nadal is winning the whole thing or losing to Federer in the final. I will be shocked if Djokovic or Youzhny win their respective semi finals. It will end with the two best players playing for the trophy this Sunday. I would tip Nadal due to the match up and his level of play this tournament but Federer will be his toughest opponent. Likewise for Federer as well. allpro 09-10-2010, 05:33 AM the wawrinka match was mentally, emotionally and physically draining on the colonel. i think he'll still feel the hangover on saturday. nadal easily in straights. kindling 09-10-2010, 05:52 AM the wawrinka match was mentally, emotionally and physically draining on the colonel. i think he'll still feel the hangover on saturday. nadal easily in straights. Ha! really? Kinda doubt that. I wouldn't really call that much of a "hangover match." Sure, it was long, but I wouldn't call it draining. Mario Sharapov 09-10-2010, 05:59 AM Good luck Misha  allpro 09-10-2010, 06:00 AM Ha! really? Kinda doubt that. I wouldn't really call that much of a "hangover match." Sure, it was long, but I wouldn't call it draining. oooh.....i strongly disagree. that was a tough match in very rough conditions and they both looked mentally exhausted at the end. i guess we'll find out on saturday. what do you predict the scoreline will be? nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 06:04 AM At one stage there was 4 breaks in a row in the Waw/Youzhny match. You can't get away with losing your serve so much with Nadal, because its so hard to break his serve. So I'm not convinced Youzhny is playing at a high enough level. But then again Youzhny may matchup better with Nadal than he matched up with Waw. It's a matchup issue more than a quality of play issue sometimes. viruzzz 09-10-2010, 06:27 AM If youzhny takes a set, he is the new GOAT. sabina_RF_lee 09-10-2010, 08:08 AM too easy for rafa, give him a bye Start da Game 09-10-2010, 08:12 AM nadal in 3 sets, it will be a thrashing....... samanosuke 09-10-2010, 08:18 AM R1 Gabashvili R2 Istomin R3 Simon R4 Lopez QF Verdasco SF Youzhny It's look more like 250 tournament road to the final . All this luck with draws has to be paid off in some other thing joplin 09-10-2010, 08:19 AM Youzhny. oh, come on, stop lying to yourself kronus12 09-10-2010, 08:20 AM the russian got this spanish twerp in his sight should be an easy game for him, poor rafatards shitting themselves after they wannabe goat loses lol..don't worry STart da GAme you can give him a blow after the match like you always do haha.. samanosuke 09-10-2010, 08:27 AM Please STFU . What will Youzhny do ???????? He will lose 3-0 without decent resistance . At his best he would have a chance but he isn't even near at his best . He is in SF due to easy draw and nothing more . Stop writing nonsense . It's only fair to said . Another cake draw for Nadal and nothing else . Every other philosopher thought in this thread is enormous shit henke007 09-10-2010, 08:28 AM :haha::haha::haha: Start da Game 09-10-2010, 08:34 AM the russian got this spanish twerp in his sight should be an easy game for him, poor rafatards shitting themselves after they wannabe goat loses lol..don't worry STart da GAme you can give him a blow after the match like you always do haha.. this moron is obviously a double account with low life.......time to take out this piece of shit....... Vamos_Me_Rafa 09-10-2010, 08:39 AM Rafa in 3. Vamos Rafa!! :) nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 08:55 AM IT will be a huge moment if Nadal wins this semi, the implications are unbelievable. If he wins this semi it means he will walk out on Sunday for a US OPEN FINAL :D and you know what Nadal does in GS Finals :p shawshank 09-10-2010, 08:56 AM Rafa all the way to the final without losing a single set! samanosuke 09-10-2010, 08:57 AM If he wins this semi it means he will walk out on Sunday for a US OPEN FINAL Impressive . Can I be your friend ? nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 08:57 AM Roddick holds the record for lowest number of breaks at the US Open - 5. Nadal can get that record very easily if he wins in straight sets in SF. nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 08:59 AM Impressive . Can I be your friend ? NAh I don't have twitter/facebook. Azurebi 09-10-2010, 09:10 AM Nadal in 3. If Youzhny wins, the final against Federer will be EXTREMELY boring. DUN I LOVE 09-10-2010, 09:20 AM Nadal 6-2 7-5 6-3 nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 10:22 AM Youzhny let Waw break his serve a lot, so Rafa just got to hold serve and he's home. FormerRafaFan 09-10-2010, 10:41 AM Rafa in 3. :worship: Youzhless is a huge mug :haha: LOL :haha: I voted Nadal. He hasn't lost one set yet, don't see why this is going to happen against Youzhny. Maybe if Youzhny is on fire he'll take a set from Nadal. Otherwise I'd say three tight sets with Nadal as the winner. Basic Boy 09-10-2010, 10:54 AM Nadal's draw - easiest ever! nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 11:19 AM Nadal's draw - easiest ever! Not sure about Youzhny though, that could go either way. But if he take care of Youzhny then the rest will follow. Rafaspin 09-10-2010, 11:32 AM Rafa to cruise through 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 History beckons the future GOAT. It's a laughable draw. A_Skywalker 09-10-2010, 11:34 AM Please, all I ask is that Youzhny take a set. Somebody needs to give Nadal some semblance of a challenge. Please, all I ask is that Djokovic take a set. Somebody needs to give Federer some semblance of a challenge. drf716 09-10-2010, 12:40 PM i hope youzhny and vera wins the us open. MacTheKnife 09-10-2010, 01:13 PM I wonder if the 30 that picked youzhny really believe it. Weather is supposed to be near perfect tomorrow with 8mph wind and moderate temps. Just can't see youzhny pulling this off. Nadal in straights.. Serenidad 09-10-2010, 01:23 PM Youzhny will be lucky to get to a TB. -Evita- 09-10-2010, 01:49 PM Colonel on Wikipedia Czech: Michail Južnyj Danish: Mikhail Juzjnyj Dutch: Michail Joezjny English: Mikhail Youzhny French: Mikhail Youžny German: Michail Juschny Hungarian: Mihail Juzsnij Spanish: Mijaíl Yuzhni Polish: Michaił Jużny Russian: Михаи́л Миха́йлович Ю́жный Serbian: Михаил Михаилович Јужњи Slovenian: Mihail Južni Swedish: Michail Juzjnyj :hatoff:  Nice list :yeah: Latvian: Mihails Južnijs Oh and my prediction: Nadal will win. Speed of Light 09-10-2010, 01:56 PM Youzhny 6-0 6-0 6-0, upset of the year. Speed of Light 09-10-2010, 01:58 PM Lol i never get tired of jinxing. nadal_slam_king 09-10-2010, 03:16 PM Youzhny vs Nadal could go either way. Nothing would surprise me in this matchup. Young 8 09-10-2010, 03:23 PM Nalbandian loses He wasn't a threat to Nadal in his conditions Gulbis loses He wasn't a threat Murray loses. ok Berdych loses. He lost 17 straight sets aginast Nadal Del Po, n/a Isner, lol Davydenko injured. ok Actually Youhzny was probably one of the best "threat" availabe in his draw Sapeod 09-10-2010, 03:24 PM Youzhny won't be able to hurt him. Nadal in 3. 6-0 6-1. Hoping Mikhail cando that ownage again. Do it for tennis, Mikhail!!!!!! severus 09-10-2010, 03:52 PM Nadaltards have a really short memory, do they ? Don't they remember that Youzhny used to OWN Parera not so long ago:devil::devil: cutesteve22 09-10-2010, 03:55 PM poor Misha Crazy Girl 09-10-2010, 05:25 PM I believe Nadal. (not sure 100%) But, it shall not a promenade as against Nando. Poirot123 09-10-2010, 05:26 PM He wasn't a threat to Nadal in his conditions He wasn't a threat ok He lost 17 straight sets aginast Nadal n/a lol ok Actually Youhzny was probably one of the best "threat" availabe in his draw To be fair, the only players stopping Nadal are the other guys ranked in the top 5 in the world. Three of them were in the other half of the draw (Federer, Djokervic and Soderling) and that only left Murray in Nadal's half, and he threw a hissy fit and went home early last week. So Nadal will make the final and then get his first match in the last two weeks where he knows he's going to have to fight for it. As for Youzney, if he serves like he did against Wawrinka this is straight sets for Nadal something like 6-2, 6-1, 6-3. If he picks up his serve there might be a match on. But like so many matches at the US Open, serving well is half the battle. Guga_fan 09-10-2010, 06:30 PM He wasn't a threat to Nadal in his conditions Nalbandian certainly doesn't need to play his best to beat Nadal, the way he was playing would have been enough to beat this Rafa, but I doubt he would have beaten Ferrer, considering his poor performance at the USO this year. Start da Game 09-10-2010, 06:56 PM now the terrified section of mtf are resorting to dummy colonel mikhail youzhny the youzhless.......expect nothing less than a severe beat down of the russian, something like 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.......at max one set will go to tb.......watch rafael pound that youzhless backhand into submission....... 2003 09-10-2010, 11:38 PM Youhzney is beating Nadal so bad, that afterwards in the post match interview he will resemble this Spaniard; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrwiquIaZkk&feature=related coonster14 09-11-2010, 12:16 AM Nadal in straights. Then a FEDAL or RAFOLE final awaits. :p Clay Death 09-11-2010, 12:23 AM youzhny doesnt have a prayer. its just that simple. clay warrior is as superior to him as the living are to the dead. its plain wishful thinking on the part of federereeeeeesians to say that youzhny has a chance. youzhny has a zero chance. dont get your heart broken. nadal is going to demolish youzhny while also trying to hold back since a huge effort is not needed. brent-o 09-11-2010, 12:24 AM Nadal in straights. Then a FEDAL or RAFOLE final awaits. :p RAFOLE! I like the sound of that! Bilbo 09-11-2010, 12:30 AM R. Nadal in 3 Ackms421 09-11-2010, 12:33 AM Definitely Nadal in 3 relatively straightforward sets. careergrandslam 09-11-2010, 01:24 AM now is when the real tournament starts for nadal. i fear an AO 2008 vs tsonga thrashing for rafa. during that tournament rafa reached the semis without losing a set and same thing at the 2009 AO where rafa nearly lost to verdasco in the semis. rafa has a mental block in semifinals, he has always struggled in semis. we will see. jcempire 09-11-2010, 02:22 AM Youzhny in 4 6-4 6-7 6-4 6-2 Topspindoctor 09-11-2010, 02:28 AM now is when the real tournament starts for nadal. i fear an AO 2008 vs tsonga thrashing for rafa. during that tournament rafa reached the semis without losing a set and same thing at the 2009 AO where rafa nearly lost to verdasco in the semis. rafa has a mental block in semifinals, he has always struggled in semis. we will see. Don't compare Youzhny to Tsonga :o He was having a tournament of his career and was untouchable. Nothing Rafa could do. Youzhny isn't even as good now as he was a few years ago and Nadal is better. I predict one tough set, then mental and physical fatigue will set in and Youzhny will make too many UE, losing 2 remaining sets routinely. careergrandslam 09-11-2010, 04:30 AM this tournament is crucial for nadal's legacy. he is playing for high stakes. kindling 09-11-2010, 05:04 AM I think a different Youzhny is going to show up. I won't be surprised if he hops the net and does to Nadal's head what he did to his own with his racquet. Misha's gonna snap! lleytonfan! 09-11-2010, 06:39 AM Ndal in 4. He's on fire. Youzhny is a food hard court player, and has beaten Rafa before, so he'll pose a challenge. Rafa will be too consistent in the end, however. bayvalle 09-11-2010, 03:48 PM this tournament is crucial for nadal's legacy. he is playing for high stakes. Clearly, a career slam is what will motivate Nadal the most. Too much pressure though. But Nadal will definitely go for it. For his part, Youzhny has nothing to lose. No pressure at all. This could make the difference this afternoon. If Youzhny wins, I can imagine Tio Toni immediately issuing a statement declaring the Russian persona non grata, i.e., he will not be allowed to step on the Spanish soil without an entry visa. Worse, the Spanish King might declare war on Russia in the event of a Youzhny win. Just me. ImmzB 09-11-2010, 03:49 PM Rafa in 3 easy sets. Montego 09-11-2010, 07:20 PM Rafa to cruise through 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 :hatoff: | |
