rafa's finally reached the quarters at the uso without dropping a set.. here's hoping his 'straight-set streak' continues..

question now is.. could rafa make the final without dropping a set?

incidentally, even the greatest hard-court player of his generation and perhaps of all time, roger himself, has never made the finals at the uso without dropping a set..

this would truly be quite a feat if rafa manages to pull it off this week..

of course, roger could also pull it off this week for he also hasn't dropped a set so far..

vamos!

He could win this without dropping a set. Verdaswarriorco will be too tired to wina set. His victory was the epic win over Ferrer. Youhzny and wawrinka are hopeless against Nadal.

Amazing!!!!

Anyone know how many sets Federer has dropped so far? Probably 6 or 7 I would guess.

EDIT: Holy Shit, he hasn't dropped a set either. Somebody should start a thread.

Why would you say Youzhny is hopeless against Nadal? Of their 4 previous hard court matches together, Youzhny won 3 ('08 Chennai, '07 Dubai, '06 US Open). Two of those wins for Youzhny were straight sets, and the US Open win was in 4 sets. Seems like Youzhny has a pretty good chance vs. Nadal on this surface.

i agree that rafa has to win it.. no dount about that.. however, making the finals without dropping a set on his worst surface and at his worst slam venue would be quite a feat for rafa in my humble opinion, especially when even roger's never managed to pull that off at the uso.. and of course winning it all without dropping a set would be one heck of a giant cherry on top of rafa's career slam sundae..

I agree, Rafa has played amazingly well here in USO. Still, the title is not a done deal yet. Most people here seem to forget that he has to play three more matches first. And a win over Djokovic/Federer/Soderling is not easy.

maybe a bit impressive, since he hasn't dropped serve yet..but won't be remembered for anything if he doesn't win. Go Fed.
