Gil isn't in the draw, no.

The main draw is literally too much for me to handle. Too many of my favorites all around. I just don't want Poto or Andreas winning this event, I want someone who needs it to win it.

Del Bonis v Andujar, Trusendi v Hartfield, Volandri v Olejniczak, Gremelmayr v Bolelli are the feature matches tomorrow.

Good luck to Fede, Diego, Pippo and Simone! Especially Fede, please beat the clown down. I would be very upset if Fede lost to Andujar. And also Simone, if he wins this event he'll be right around the top 100. Denis is a scary R1 match, hopefully he can get through it unscathed.

Of all the times I've seen this joker Andujuar, this is the worst of the worst. This is not even professional. And Fede lost a set, which shows you how he's playing. Too many errors from the Argentine. Hope he wins this match and takes out the trash.

Filo V.
09-07-2010, 12:04 PM
Fede looks like a complete ass out here. I love him, but he looks like a piece of shit who isn't planning on winning shit today. This tank job here in the third is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable on all levels, so I better hear he was injured so he didn't simply give up.

Sad, but true. Pablo still is atrocious, though. Fede more or less handed him the match, hopefully he can find the form he was in earlier in the year.

Simone ahead 4-1 in the first over Gremelmayr, hopefully that continues, Denis is sort of lame.

Daniele simply isn't the player he once was before his suspension and injuries. He used to really be a decent player, I remember when he almost beat Roddick in Cincinnati.

Fabio hit the ball really well today, probably the most impressive behind Gaba that I've seen so far this week.

Of course it was suspended due tue darkness. These stupid organisers thought that it is possible to play all matches on central court   And also - Gabashvili played short 2 sets, Boleli ended first set and won 2nd, it was short game too, then Andreev also won in 2 sets. Only Seppi played long 3 sets match, Fognini had very short 2 sets match. And despite of it, Starace HAD CHANCE TO START HIS MATCH. What if Gaba or Fognini had played 3 sets matches??? What a stupid mugs can make such a stupid OOP and all matches to put on fucking one central court     2nd and 3rd courts were empty for ages, and these fuckers didn't see that now is not monday or tuesday, when u have time for 1st round matches.

I'm pretty sure Fabio doesn't fix. He tanks matches. But in Italy, the Italians generally play their best for the crowds, Fabio always does well in Italy and he was playing an easy opponent today. He has three easy matches to start his tournament on paper, so he should make it to the weekend here.

Brizzi is Italian.

Pippo has his off weeks, but he's won 2 Italian challengers this year, he's made the finals of two others, and at least the QF of several others. He's not the player he once was, he's 29 years old (happy belated birthday Filippo!). But still, most of his wins come in Italian challengers these days. He's in the top 100 because of his results in Italian challengers. So he definitely raises his level for Italy.

:) This is the reason, why games like this are NO BET :) 2 russians, 1 russian vs 1 kazach, also when play players from uzbekistan, 2 croatians, 2 serbians ( Djokovic - Krajinovic epic fix  ), 2 italians, also 2 players from spanish language speaking country :) and this is only small examples. tennis betting is very hard work, u must have your system how to select picks, and to know who u can trust and who u cant :) And of course the best system is in your head :)

Igor serving for the first set at 5-1.

Filo V.
09-09-2010, 08:15 PM
Igor 6-1

I can see from that first set why the H2H is the way it is. Igor just completely dictated the proceedings. Andreas' serve was a complete non-factor. Andy will need to put more pressure on in set 2.

Filo V.
09-09-2010, 08:27 PM
Seppi 3-*0 in the second.

Really stepped up the level of his play and serving. Igor didn't play an amazing first set and he's come out in the second making lots of errors. Igor makes more errors now than he used to, his backhand isn't the shot it was a couple of years ago.

Seppi 6-1 set two.

Andreas really turned things around wonderfully, serving with more intent, and directing his shots at Andreev's backhand, and being more dictating in general. Set three coming up, both guys are going to be hoping to do what they did well in the easy sets they won.

Filo V.

Igor's backhand has gone from average/little below to horrible. Hard to be a good player when you have a liability as a shot from the back of the court.

Igor is going to have to try to become what a guy like Starace is now. A high level challenger player, and a medium/low level ATP player. Right now he's just low level everywhere, he needs to dominate challengers clay challengers, and mix in good results in weaker ATP clay events, with maybe one or two good runs in a bigger event. At this point, I don't ever see him getting back to his previous level, but he can hang around 60 in the rankings if he plays his cards right.

Simone 7-5

He alternates between good and bad points, whenever he strings good points together he wins games and breaks serve. He's not even close to the player he was a few years ago, but he still hits a damn hard ball and serves well, which is probably his best shot now.

Kumantsov seems to DF alot, run a lot and counterpunch, and he's a little different than the average full-out aggression Russian. Not that impressed by him.

Pippo played really well at the end of the first set, but Andy just didn't go away, he just was there and playing solidly and eventually took the first set 7-6(5). Now leads 5-*0 in the second after a tough opening serve game where he held off an opportunity for Pippo.

If only Pippo would have taken the tiebreak. Andreas just wore him down as the match went on. Too consistent, too good of defense, and hits a harder ball and that really made the difference.

Mischa/Fabio are going to have to take Andreas out, because I think he's the favorite to win this title. One of them have to take him out so Simone doesn't have to play him.

Stop bitching. It's not like Seppi plays challengers every week.

I'm just a little upset, is all, I'll stop, but I still am a bit pissed. Andy and Potito are both around 50-60 in the rankings and have done good in ATP events of late, and are still taking up challenger points from guys like Volandri who are trying to keep their careers alive. I don't like that. I think that if you are ranked above 70-75, you should be disallowed to play challengers outside of certain circumstances. Andreas has played like 3 challenger events the past month or two, he shouldn't be playing challengers when he's ranked like 56. They just wanted to play in this event because it's Italy and easy points.

There's a pretty big crowd, they are expecting a Fabio win here. I don't know why Fabio was the night match. His court presence isn't conducive to feature night matches. The silence when Fabio misses a shot or loses a game is uncomfortable.

Fabio made tons of errors and DFs, Mischa served well enough, but his game is really mediocre now.

If Fabio plays decent tennis, he'll win this match.

Filo V.

Wah, wah, wah excuses excuses. They have DC coming up and it's the 2nd week of a Slam so makes sense to play big challengers especially at home. Wawrinka and Berdych play challengers at home, good for them as well. The top 50 rule is good enough.

If you have actually followed Seppi's overall career, this is the most challengers he has played in a season for a very long time. He mostly played ATP qualies to get on the tour, so it's not a problem he is playing here and Starace has always played Italian speaking challengers.

It's not excuses. The both of them are flat out taking points away from guys trying to make or continue careers. Stan always plays Lugano and Radek and Tomas tend to play Prostejov, to me it's ridiculous. What is the challenger tour really about? And it makes me sad to see a guy who you know will not be a top 50-60 player giving it his best, and it isn't anywhere good enough. The challengers are supposed to give guys opportunities to be in the top 100, instead most of the big tournaments are seemingly won by top 100 players, and in many cases guys inside the top 80. It's not fair in any way. Seppi isn't even playing DC, and the DC is on hard court in Sweden. They saw the opportunity to play at home in a big event and get easy points and they took it, I don't blame them, but I blame the fact they are allowed to do so. They should not be allowed to do so for the reasons stated.

Andreas isn't a challenger whore, but Potito is. But I consider Poto a bit different, because he seemingly gets like half of his points from challengers. Much different than some random player doing a one-off, winning, and never being heard from again, but still not really the best for the sport. It is not good for the sport to forget about the little guy, but that is what happens when these players are allowed to play challenger events.
