"The race to no. 2 is more interesting for fans right now. I'm so exhausted and i want to marry at the end of the year. And Jim told me he would pay me even more if i don't go to Houston. He wants Andy o Baldy to win really badly"

I would start a thread about who's the better No. 2, Hewitt or Roddick, but I don't want to wake the hybernating Duck Nation.

I think Fed's real rivals, well it seems, come from the 3rd generation: Berdych (who JMac says will be top 10 in a year), and Nadal.

That's quite possible. Great observation, TF.

Rogi played terrible against Thomas and still nearly won. The guy got lucky. Nadal could be a nice rival. Don't place your bets too early though.

You sacred the bejesus out of me- Afonso. ;) I'm going to the Master's Cup and am so looking forward to seeing Federer play. But my co-workers must think I'm crazy because I muttered "shi%" when I saw the thread title and then started laughing like a loon when I read your post.

However, if Mattress Mac started promising Federer incentives to not show up it would not surprise me.

Don't write off the current crop of top player sjust yet.

And honestly, John McEnroe doesn't know what he's talking about half of the time.

I certainly woulden't right off the entire group of top ten, for Fed's rivals, but Roddick I certainly would.

Luckily Federer isnt.

``Remember, our careers are only at the beginning,'' Federer said. "I am very happy with my record over Roddick but I know things can change any time and I approach each match like that."

Fedex
11-13-2004, 01:57 AM
Well thats a good approach Federer has, and if he keeps that mentality, he will continue to own Roddick over their careers. He does know their matches are 100% up to him, and how he plays, but he wont say something that cocky, no matter how true it is.

True but I think Roger can say that against every opponent (perhaps not on clay)

Well judging by their last match, it would appear as though Roddick has also become Federer's 'bagel boy'. :)
