That is not even true. In 2008 there was a challenger event held in Guangzou, China. Bjorn Rehnquist from Sweden won it. I'm going to guess majority of the field here will just be asian players, maybe a couple of australians but that is about it.

I agree, but that is why this tournament should be moved back towards the end of the year Asian challenger tour, instead of it being randomly here with no-one playing and trumped up points for weak entry lists. It's not smart scheduling.

Agree. It doesn`t make any sense to have this tournament at this time of the year. Maybe there`s a cheap flight connection between Beijing and Samarkand :)

It's great China's hosting a challenger event but I agree with previous posters that it should be moved to Sept - Oct.
However, Ive read one of the incentive of winning this challenger is a guarantee entry to China Open in the following weeks.

good luck;
[WC] Di Wu (CHN
Ze Zhang (CHN) - Tsung-Hua Yang (TPE)... bummer!
Woong-Sun Jun (KOR)

Based on the challenger field, I hope that the winner will get WC to the qualifying of the China Open, not for the main draw.

But,in my view,they should give a qualifying's wild card of China Open to the champion of Beijing Challeger.It's good for this tournament.
