Good luck Jojo. Kendrick is not a good draw for the first match, but if he gets going after that it seems a relatively clear path to 4th round.

Boodles day 2 update (http://www.theboodles.com/view_news.php?id=00097)

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga got proceedings underway on the penultimate day of the Boodles Challenge with a terrific display of grass court tennis against the world number 35, Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The Frenchman was on great form against the German and his energetic baseline game proved decisive in the second set tie-break, eventually coming through 6-3, 7-6. It was a satisfying victory for Tsonga following the French national team's 2-0 loss to Mexico last night and added further insult to injury for the Germans in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to Serbia at lunchtime.

"I felt really comfortable on the grass today and I feel very good going into Wimbledon. I'm happy to be here at the Boodles Challenge to prepare my game for the next few weeks although my first round match against Robert Kendrick next week will be difficult."

So glad Jo got a couple of matches ahead of Wimbledon. He's right, Kendrick is going to be tricky. Hope Jo can pull through and win that.

Good luck Jo! Great to see him back looking strong. People think Kendrick will trouble him based on his past performances on grass (notably against Nadal in 2007), but as long as Jo remains focused, serves well, he'll be fine.

06-22-2010, 02:46 PM
Good job Jojo :bounce: Probably Dolgo next

06-22-2010, 02:47 PM
One down =)

Didn't get to watch it, but through in 4 against a decent opponent will do.

06-22-2010, 03:26 PM

06-22-2010, 04:11 PM

BTW, Selven, what is that "thing" in your avy, geisha Fed?

06-23-2010, 04:41 AM
Well done Jo! That was incredibly tight, great job winning those two tie breaks. Dolgopolov is going to be a tough customer, but I know you can do it. Good luck!

06-23-2010, 07:11 AM
BTW, Selven, what is that "thing" in your avy, geisha Fed?

It's white wife Fed hahahaha

06-24-2010, 08:00 AM
What a draw he has now until the quarters! Hope he takes advantage

06-24-2010, 02:09 PM

and to think it was looking so comfortable at 2 sets to 0

06-24-2010, 02:22 PM
What's going on with Jojo. I can't watch right now, but from the score it looked like he was cruising initially

06-24-2010, 03:07 PM
His return serve sucks...

06-24-2010, 03:10 PM
Never in doubt >_>

5 set hero our Jo.

06-24-2010, 03:13 PM
Jo,you scare me...congrats to your win...

06-24-2010, 03:21 PM
Onwards :rocker2: That 5-set record has gotten very busy lately  Keep winning them Jojo

06-24-2010, 09:28 PM
:clap2: Allez Jo!

06-25-2010, 04:34 AM
Wow, I thought he was cruising in straight sets, but credit to Dogolpolov who fought back bravely. Last year, Jo was a 5-set virgin, this year he's an old pro at it.

Well done for the win and nice to see the nice camaraderie between him and Dogolpolov at the end. Hope to see an easier match against Kamke. Conserving energy and minimizing injury are so crucial in grand slams.

06-25-2010, 05:01 AM
Allez Jo!!!:D :yeah: :woohoo:

I hope though with no more 5 setters :p

06-26-2010, 03:52 AM

06-26-2010, 04:58 PM
Straight sets today.

Can't see Juju offering him too many problems either, looks like we might well be on for the 1/4s :O

06-26-2010, 06:43 PM
WD Jo,good luck next round

06-28-2010, 04:16 AM
Finally, a straights-set victory against Kamke. Next, the battle of the French. Put friendship aside and Good luck!

06-28-2010, 02:49 PM
Hihi, well done Jojo :)

06-28-2010, 04:47 PM
Good job!! JO first time into the QF in Wimbledon

06-28-2010, 09:12 PM
OMG, this problems in 3rd sets are becoming annoying :smash:

06-30-2010, 04:33 AM
It's great to see Jo realising his real potential on grass. He's been flying under the radar and few believed he would make it this far. Finally he gets to play on centre court. Hope for a great contest with Andy Murray.

06-30-2010, 11:07 AM
Going to be tough today :(

06-30-2010, 05:46 PM
Meh. What an annoying match.

A huge "what if" as a result of that stupid stupid leave in the tiebreak

06-30-2010, 06:18 PM
Yep, I co-sign

06-30-2010, 06:30 PM
Bloody predictable.
Some day.

It was a good tournament, nevertheless.

06-30-2010, 06:33 PM
Jo was the better player on court today.:(

06-30-2010, 11:38 PM
i didn't see the match ; what happened ???

07-01-2010, 03:03 AM
the second set Tb was just :(:(,but yeah, it's still a good tournament

07-01-2010, 10:03 AM
i didn't see the match ; what happened ???

Jo had 2 points on serve @ 5-4 in the tb to take the second set too.

Murray won the first to keep himself competitive, then at 5 all Jo chose to leave a put away volley (pretty much a floated ball back) thinking it was going long and it dropped inside the baseline giving Murray set point on his own serve which he then took >_______________<

Ah well, a solid hardcourt season and it could well be another top 8 year for Jo at least, with Davy and Pony presumably unlikely to defend all their points, and Roddick/Verdasco both playing poorly. Just got to watch out for Berdych and Ferrer o_O

07-01-2010, 02:56 PM
Jo said his knee was painful, will he be able to play DC tie ??

07-03-2010, 04:26 AM
tennis.com says Jo is out for 2 months with knee injury.
I need a place to cry.

It's just awful.

07-03-2010, 07:48 AM
did he get injured against Murray? from the looks of it, I thought he had a problem with his hand. but out for 2 months for knee? horrible news. and no daviscup

07-03-2010, 08:36 AM
Oh no :tears: Get well soon Jojo

07-03-2010, 08:55 AM
Will he be able to play Toronto and Cincy ?
