the law changed in 1985, so Greek women keep their maiden name after marriage. yet, a few love to use their husband's name socially while they're obliged to use their maiden name for legal paperwork. i guess that a life-history transition requires much effort to become a full-on metamorphosis. It's the law that they keep their own names? While I totally support the idea of women keeping their own names I think it should be their choice.

For those of you that don't understand Tangyrish - a mixture of Tangy and jibberish - what she is trying to say is that for a Yank simpleton, a draw equates to a boring match, irrespective of how the match unfolded.

This is the kind of complex thinking and understanding that makes some Americans so endearing. Don't expect Tangy to understand football, she's still trying to figure out how "shock and awe" didn't win the hearts and minds of Iraqis.

Yes, England got the easiest group in the tournament and were expected to win all their games. Beating the USA was considered a foregone conclusion so to get only a draw from it is pretty bad as far as their group goes - although this borefest of a match by Algeria and Slovenia is kinda letting them off the hook.

Let's see :England invented football and has, arguably, the best National leaugue in the world. USA calls the sport soccer and it's the 10th most popular sport in the country after hotdog eating and dog races  Did you get my point, Star? :D:lol:

The USian team was nice about it though:

Thanks :hatoff: Linda for the information about the points allotted for the win and the tie... er.. draw. That is a nice quote.

Algeria-Slovenia is boring but I keep watching hoping someone scores. :o

Damn, I'm going to miss that too. Stupid time zones  I feel the same during the Australia Open.

and then they're done? does losing to slovenia mean they immediately throw you out of the group? No. I thought you meant just today.

Algeria play again on June 19

K'Naan. That's what excites me about WC. I read your post about him yesterday but I guess I didn't quote it. I know very little of his music but I'm glad he's doing well.

Betty, Zidane is good looking.

But not as hot as I would find him if I liked him. I actually like him better than I used to when he was trailing babes behind him at matches. One time he came to IW with 6 young ladies (presumably) and they trooped to all of his matches.
