There was a rumour last weekend that some of the "rebelious" players had gone to see Zidane and he had picked a team that the players later asked Raymond to use against Mexico. Zizou said it was :bs:

Sarkozy saying that Anelka's words, if true, were inacceptable is SO ironic. He is well know for insulting everyone all the time ("casse-toi pov' con" was just one mild example).

I wonder what were the reactions in my hometown. I was in highschool when Anelka got transferred to Madrid and maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of the people in my school came from his hometown. It was a pretty big deal at the time, many guys had bought his RM shirt and some even copied his ridiculous look of one leg of the pants pulled up. :lol:

I'm obviously not taking about results :o but about attitude. This is not only taking place in the French team but they've just taken it to new levels. There are lots of overpaid divas in pro sports who seem to forget what it's all about.

I mean, you're even tempted to excuse yourself as a fan for expecting them to give it their all in matches and to actually want them to *gasp* try to do their best for the team.

But at least, the French team have actually accomplished great things in the last ten years or so. Not that this excuses their diva behaviour but our players have the diva behaviour without any result. So, I'm hoping that the criticism the French team is now getting will make our guys see how ridiculous they've been at times.
