Gotta love the out of the blue results of today.

But seriously, Juanqui hasn't looked all too impressive this week whereas Ginepri has been a man on a mission thus far. I mean he only had one ATP tour win this year prior to RG, ffs. Well done to him for dramatically turning it around and reaching the last 16.

I was rooting for Ferrero, but if an American has to make the second week, I'm okay with it being Robby Ginepri.

Meanwhile Djokovic's draw is getting easier and easier.

Very depressing. Not sure JCF will recover from this one. Might be one of those career ending losses.

Don't know why Ginepri out of nowhere starts playing like a regular top clay player. He was powerful, accurate, consistent, moved extremely well. Far too good.

Cool!

I thought all the Americans had been knocked-out!

:hatoff:

I really wanted JCF to do well though!

I've always liked him.

Don't know why Ginepri out of nowhere starts playing like a regular top clay player.

Was Dusseldorf that did it - aside from being good preparation for Roland Garros the way it's playing now, he just turned up there totally inspired. Davis Cup does that sometimes with radical transformation of player formlines after all.

4 terrible bh errors in that last game, for ferrero. routine stuff.... i agree that this could be the end of him.

ginepri has a great chance v djoko if he keeps up with the great movement and deep, heavy groundstrokes... not to mention melzer/gaba in adjacent rd16 match!

Ferrero`s best chance to have a good result at a slam will probably be at Wimbledon.Since winning the French he has done nothing here but had some good results on grass

What a great result out of nowhere for Robby. I knew he had a chance today, and in that 5th set, he overwhelmed JCF at the end, left Ferrero with no answer.

Robby is so unpredictable, but when's he's on, he's really good. Congrats, good luck vs. Novak!

I`d just watched the first set where Ferrero was serving for the set. He didn`t look so secure in the whole set though. This must be so frustrating for Ferrero to lose that match. All the credit for Robby though.

Ginepri loves smacking us in the face with suprise runs in Grand Slams, doesn't he?

I think Rob likes it that way; always being under the radar so the pressure is off of him. Kudos to him for making it far. Shows that you don't need to be a giant american to go deep in a slam.

What a legend this Ginepri.

Potito will also feel better knowing that he didn't lose to some random mug, but the best amarican claycourter who plays like a top20 player when at his best. :rocker2: ...and has now also beaten JCF against the odds.

What can he do against mediocre Đoković?

He is back ...... that I mean his confidence.

You seem that He's enjoy the ball game and no matter what's going to happen

that's Robby Ginepri.

This guy is very inconsistent. I think he maybe a very lazy one out of there. If he focus his game that would do a lot better than his Ranking today

Ferrero is a grass court specialist these days. He has sucked on clay since 2003. Wimbledon is where he seeks glory now, he has been one of the 10 best grass court players over the last 4 years or so.

Curiously enough, Ginepri had beaten Ferrero in straight sets in their only meeting which had been on the grass of Wimby in 2004.

But yeah, Ferrero is actually a good grass courter.
