Too much taken out of Ljubo in his match vs Fish imo.

Good win for Bellucci though.

Ljubo could barely serve...great fight with the injury and all. Rest up

Ljubo is both still feeling his back and he pretty much ran himself ragged the last round, so it was very unlikely he'd manage the win here, but I was hoping he'd use his craftiness to create chances. Good RG for him all things considered.

Everybody who calls Bellucci as a mug is insulting that word . Shame for Ljubo but he is clearly injured

Match with Fish yesterday is not the reason why he lost. He is injured for 2 months, he earned injury right after epic win at Indian Wells!

Finally Bellucci finding some consistency.

It ends next round, though.

that first set was going to determine how the match went for Ljubo...he had to win it and had a lot of chances to do so *5-4, 3 set points at 6-5* and *4-2 in the TB.

Hewitt will smash him.

he was able to hold 3 times and break bellucci in the third :D and that was mainly spinning serve in and not being able to do much with the fh...good fight and i think it was a good sign he stayed on. should be ok for the grass where i don't think the injury will be as much of a factor

Legenda was fodder here after his moves out on the dancefloor yesterday.

Bellucci was favourite for a reason - Ljubo has been physically very ropey since Indian Wells. Even in his earlier matches here he was talking about how weak his serve was.

First Grand Slam 4R, well done Thomaz. :worship: Now give Rafa a bit of trouble.

This should be a huge confidence boost for him, regardless of what happens in the next match. :D

Too bad, but well done for fighting :worship:
I thought he'll get bagelled in the third the way he was serving, but he even managed to get a break :yeah:
Now rest and get ready for grass season

I`d just watched the 3rd set. Ljubo looked too tired. Thomaz was leading 4-1 in the last set and Ljubo managed to recover and level back 4 all. He didn`t play some great tennis but was enough to win. Congratulations!

First Brazilian into the second week of a Slam since Kuerten in RG 2004.

It rather looks like he's not physically capable of slams anymore. He's done great in masters since his comeback though, four qfs last year, and there only losing to guys like Murray, Djoko and Nadal, then of course winning IW this year. In the same period, he just struggles with the long slam matches.

Actually his Slam record has always been poor, even at his peak. One QF in Australia (lost to Baghdatis) and one SF in Paris (ridiculously easy draw) and that's it.

Ljubicic looked gimpy, did not serve well.

Bellucci-Nadal should be extremely interesting. Depending on odds a wager on the Brazilian would not be a bad play.

Sure, but that's a lot better than recently, where he tends to lose in early rounds. Meanwhile in the masters he's producing arguably top10 class results, having beaten Roddick, Nadal, Djoko, Monfils, Verdasco, Simon, Tsonga, Del Potro ..... and that's just the last year.

it's a shame Ljubicic was injured but I'm thrilled Bellucci is into the 4th rd. Would love to see him really take it to Nadal :yeah:

I like Belluccis game, but he has been a little bit lucky to get this far (easy draw, fatigue Ljuba). Bellucci is not as good as he was in the beginning of the year, and he will not be a threat to Rafa. 0-3, for sure!
