i think Fed in straights. might be Fed's first real test though. Wawa played some good tennis out there today.

Roger in 3 or 4, but it certainly won't be easy

+1

I'd make a poll on how many games Fed will lose. Then I'd vote for 6.

Federer should go through in straights, Wawrinka was looking good too in Madrid before Federer duffed him up.

If Federer drops a set against his Swiss bitch, he should tank in semis to avoid demolition against Nadal.

i dont think so, it probably will be 3 tight sets. Wawa is playing well.

Wawrinka should take a set unless he drops his level (which could be expected). Federer in 3 or 4.

This won't be as easy as in Madrid. I see Wawrinka taking a set - possibly even the first, causing a minor MTF meltdown.

Roger in either three tight sets or Roger in four with a TB in the first set, Stan winning the second and then Roger winning the third and fourth easily.

Fed in three, or Wawa in four/five

Shouldn't be a problematic match for Federer.. Roger's backhand looking solid enough to keep up with Stan's. Aside from that, of Roger clearly has the upper hand/more variation in all the other departments.

"Shouldn't" is the key word here. ;)

I agree with those who expect this match to be quite a bit more difficult for Roger than 'expected'. Stan might well even run off with one set.
Roger in 4.

This will be an easy enough match-up for Fed. Straight sets.

Federer has too much variety in his game and that should see him through this match in either three sets or four (max). Breaking Sampras's record of total weeks at number one gets closer by the day. :D

Given the Stan has never made it to the quarters of a Slam, it would be silly to think that he'll make the breakthrough here. However, Stan is 1-1 versus Federer on clay so it might be closer than some people think.

I don't know but I see the Fed-Wawrinka match as a scripted one between the two compatriots, with Wawrinka ready to sacrifice his current bid by giving way to Fed. That's what compatriots are for. The same way Verdasco and company would do for Nadal. Fed's victory over Wawrinka would push him towards semifinals. Indeed, Fed must reach semifinals to avoid complications, one of which is the possibility of being disloged to ranking No. 2 if he falls before semifinals. This is just me.

i'm really rooting for stan here. I know him winning is quite a long shot, but i hope he can at least stretch this into a five setter.

/wishful thinking.

All depends on the first few games, I think, because if Stan can keep up with Fed or go up a break, I think he could definitely take it to 4 sets (5 would be nice but I'm not thinking about that)...but if Fed looks good early, then straight sets

Wawa looked disgusted with himself after their Madrid match, so hopefully he'll carry some fire into this one. Fed in four.

I think we'll have a very enjoyable match.
Wawrinka is such a good player and the king is the king.
I think Roger would win in 4, with very good moments.
Just wait a bit and enjoy...
