Lol. Just two weeks back, Ginepri was losing to David Guez in Nice qualis. The week before, he lost to A-Bog in Bordeaux first round.

Starace should be paraded around wearing a sign "Kick me, I lost to Ginepri on clay".

Very expected, really. Starace´s form was never good in this spring and some of his results were misleading to say the least

Expected win, and Robby's game suits clay pretty well, especially the quicker clay of the French. Robby seems to have about 2-3 good tournaments a year to keep his ranking at a acceptable level, very up and down, depends on his confidence and desire. He had a good opportunity and took advantage. Great job Robby!

Were you too exhausted? Oh well, gotta give some credit to Ginepri.

Really, this Ginepri is one misterious mug. He does nothing for most of the season and then has a great result out of the blue.
The best american claycourter together with Querrey.
He stands a chance against JCF, if he plays his best.

Robby has motivational issues, and confidence issues. When he's motivated and playing well, he's pretty tough to beat. Problem is he generally isn't motivated and doesn't feel settled when playing, and the results back that up. Glad he chose a major to start playing well again.

There is a mistake in the thread title: the score was actually 3-6 6-4 6-3 6-3

Lol. Just two weeks back, Ginepri was losing to David Guez in Nice qualis. The week before, he lost to A-Bog in Bordeaux first round.

Robby's had a rough year... He had bad pain in his neck earlier in the season, and finally had a surgical procedure done which stopped the pain. He got food poisoning in Bordeaux (his second night in Europe), and he didn't come to Europe with a coach or anything. He's a player who needs at least a few matches strung together to get some confidence back, but also, he's a very psychological player who can get turned upside down by a number of different things, including tight points, one bad mishit, or expectations placed on him. Here in Paris, there really wasn't any expectations for him to live up to. He basically said this in his press conference...

Congrats to Robby for getting to the 3rd round at Roland Garros again :)
