Federer will need to tighten it up a little bit if he wants to take out the big guns, but he's very close to top form atm, even relative to his prime years. His game has much improved on clay, in so far as point construction is concerned.

A few more returns in, a few less shanks, and a few less sets where he suddenly loses the first serve percentage and well i'd even give him an outside punchers shot against Rafa.

First set I thought was the best quality-wise, Reister was keeping with him and being aggressive saving the first 7 break points, you could see why he'd made it to the 3rd round. I thought it might actually end up being a difficult match but of course Fed made his move at 4-4 with Reister serving. Second set he played well and Reister didn't, thus causing the bagel. Third set lost his concentration a bit and his serve % went wayward but still won it relatively comfortably. Good performance overall. :)

Roger has been playing well so far, regardless of his opponents. Looks like he's on cruise control and he has barely broken a sweat yet. Another trip to the final looks likely come next Sunday if he keeps this up.

Reister also played pretty well in patches, but I don't think he'll ever be more than a 90-130 type ranked player at his peak.

If you want to big up Pete's achievements then at least focus on Wimbledon where he was good. Time to face reality: Sampras was no good at RG. He did well in 96, which had the hottest and fastest conditions of the whole decade, but otherwise he sucked the hell out of that place and you know it.
