He is an allrounder I would say, no major weapon. With the one handed bh he barely attacks, but with the forehand he can play aggressive.

Yes, defeating Lopez on clay should be rewarded by 1 million dollars.

I'm actually so excited that Rogie is about to win his 700th ATP singles match. Although I'd rather it be over a big name like a Rafa for example, Julian Reister will do just fine with me.

Reister is a decent player, plays aggressively for the most part, goes for his shots especially with the forehand, has a decent 1st serve. He's not much more than any average generic challenger player you see, he's not a bad player but not a great one either. Roger shouldn't lose more than about 6 games.

Not as easy as it seems, Roger usually struggles a bit against players he's never played before, so it could be a bit tricky that way though I expect the 700th match win and his 150th win on clay to come here ;)

Reister has awesome volleys, extremely effective at the net and often going there

distributing well, quite regular, confident on both sides, medium serve

Perfect oponent for Roger - a tennis player.

And Roger is the best tennis player, you can't beat him with a clean regular play.

Has to be an interesting match to watch imo. 6-3 6-3 6-3

Usually I'm angry because of Nadal's clown draw, but this time Roger's draw is even more clownish.
Challenger player, Wawrinka(owned), Soderling(there may be some problems, but Federer should win this in straight, max. 4 sets).
In semis propably he will face Murray/Tsonga, which is a joke on clay.

No real challenge before final.

I hope Federer will be able to get his 700th ATP match win without too much difficulty but Reister is clearly playing his best tennis and if you factor in the unknown element of his game, I think the first set at least could be quite tight.

Saying someone's draw is clownish until the final is an insult to the 63 other players in that half of the draw. Other than Nadal and Federer, Soderling seems to be the most dangerous opponent one could face right now on Roland Garros. I'm just curious, but who would you have liked to have seen in the top half of the draw to stop it from seeming 'clownish'?

Well of course both possible opponents were mentioned, but the discussion was all about having Rochus as the next opponent. :spit:

Typical clay courters like Verdasco or Ferrer might be more dangerous for Federer than guys like Tsonga, Murray or Cilić.

Let's make it clear, I'm OK with Roger's draw, as a fan I prefer a easy road to final. But I'm just worried that's he is not going to have a really tough match before facing Nadal.

Comparing Reister to Zeballos is so :silly: Zeballos has at least 15 wins on ATP level and has beaten Gonzo this year on clay. What has Reister ever done? He was 0-3 career prior to FO

I saw Reister playing twice at Alphen a/d Rijn last year. First match against Huta Galung he played very good and solid but that was in the period Jesse can't hit a single ball well. Against Sluiter he were outplayed and I didn't saw any special at all in this guy. Very surprised by his run here.
