From a Chinese source.

Apparently Murray supported the appeal but it was rejected by the organizers.

Fair play to Murray :yeah:

Well, Murray is a bit sick I believe, so it would have been a good thing for both of them. ;)

Because Gasquet only arrived in Paris today he wanted until Tuesday to play Murray.. Murray agreed thinking it was fair to allow Gasquet another day to recover form playing last week..But organisers want Gasquet vs Murray to happen tomorrow.. and they insist this will happen.

I heard from the BBC commentators that Djokovic and Almagro were the only big seeds playing Monday, but they could have been wrong I suppose.

I didn't mishear, that's what they said  But you're right, it doesn't make much sense.

Of course he supports it, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, next week, murray's 50th birthday, any day they play, there'll only be one winner and it's not Gasquet.

Usually some matches from the other half are also played on Monday.

Tomorrow's a public holiday in France, it makes sense that the organisers would schedule a match like that then. I hope Gasquet will have something left in the tank...

I guess Richie's stamina will be an issue after-all.

Should be a good match even with two cripples.

Sick and fish out of water on clay vs tired and probably in need of a cocaine fix.

Double fun.

Cocaine comment unnecessary.

Gasquet needed Nice bad, so no fault of his here. Hopefully he pulls off the upset, otherwise the French crowd may hound again, no thanks to the idiot $chedulers.

ALl the top 4 are playing tomorrow, except for Rafa.

Murray-Gasquet isn't even on PC

French schedulers :cuckoo:

OOP for tomorrow: http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/scores/schedule/schedule7.html

edit: on further reflection, even more :retard: :retard: Fed vs Luczak and Monfils vs Mayer are not better than Gasquet-Murray (on paper at least)

agreed. they should have scheduled it for tuesday or wednesday and let them play on the Chatrier. defending champion's first match ought to be on the Central though. as for Monfils, well...

How come these two don't play on Philippe Chatrier?

Federer on PC is obvious. Monfils is if I would guess the most popular frenchman. On the other hand Gasquet-Murray is a far better match taken both players into consideration. With only two mens matches on PC a day it's obvious that a couple of high seeded will be playing on SL instead. Both are big courts and not really any difference anyways.

Gasquet shouldn't be too worried about that match and more generally about RG.
Lose or win,he has absolutely no chance to do anything significant in the FO.
As i said in another thread, the real season for him will start on grass.

Tsonga was ill and was also denied a later start date.

I applaud the officials for at least maintaining consistency in their rulings.

And Gasquet was just denied a WC for Eastbourne even though he won that tournament TWICE when it was in Nottingham. I'm a Francophile to the heart, but seriously, fuck England AND France.

Tsonga Brands was scheduled in PC and Gasquet Murray isn't? :spit:

maybe it has to do with the fact that the other courts are slower and that can help Richie more? ;)

Bullshit of the highest order. Why schedule a tournament a week before if no one is supposed to play it? IT's not as if he asked to play outside normal time for first round, but apparently the scheduling would end up in shambles if his half is not finished on Monday

MM's the week before a slam is for lowly ranked mugs, not someone looking to do well in a GS.

So, there's a ranking line under which you're not allowed proper rest? :retard:

Mjau!
05-24-2010, 02:07 AM
I did not say that. You simply shouldn't play the week before a GS if you're worried about not getting enough rest, nevermind 2 consecutive weeks before a GS. It's bad scheduling and he only has himself to blame.

05-24-2010, 11:01 AM
And I'm saying that's bullshit. You shouldn't play the week before if you're worried you'd be too exhausted for the upcoming slam in general, but you should always be allowed to rest from your last match
