Hi Peta! :wavey: Sagapo has to be :worship:ed! Sorry about the spoilers but you will have your fun anyway I hope. :D
And what's great, the Eurovision semis and the final start after the day at Roland Garros ends so it's perfect entertainment for the night here in Europe.
Yeah it's lucky it's only the semis I get spoilers for... the final is shown on Sunday night here which means I avoid internet, radio and TV for the entire of Sunday - that's how much I can't stand knowing who wins before I see it

It will be on here about the same time as play starts at RG here so not great I guess - but I haven't watched any of RG anyway so I don't really mind :p
peta:hug:

not with you on that one either :tape: i would happily spend the whole day in the kitchen, cooking, eating and talking about food
If you cook it for me I will eat it :D
Nothing wrong with that. To me cooking is like a useful hobby. Maybe if I had a big family to cook for, I wouldn't feel the same way.
I don't have anyone else but myself to cook for and I still have trouble getting the motivation. I do like the feeling of satisfaction I get when I do manage to cook something decent though :)

dont care of it;)
i started really to cook when francy was born..before..more take away:o
before i also worked full time ..:ono time u know...:p

i dont need oliver:banana: i m only without neurones lately, boss is killing me at work so i cant read also an easy diff of tt:D

Does anyone else find that poem almost profound...idiot savant style?

Did you read all of them? Heya had several tone poems this time round.  Andy would be  if he knew she was a fan and once he got over the shock he might laugh himself silly.

None of them. I know that it's blasphemy to not have been a fangirl of Borg but the iceberg attitude annoyed the hell out of me. I liked to watch Edberg for his legs :D (those legs in those shorts were a sight) but he was never one of my favorites either.

Other than Nadal? John McEnroe of course :worship:

Ok, that's interesting. I am so sorry for young girls today that the boys wear long baggy shorts. It's a tragedy. I wouldn't have guessed you for a Mac fan. I couldn't watch him because his tantrums embarrassed me so much. It was painful. And I think because he was American I felt somewhat tainted.

Seriously? I still remember the big grins on the faces of my mum and my sister the first time I baked a cake and left the kitchen in a state. Took me ages to clean that mess up.
To be fair, my sister would probably have helped me out if it weren't for the times I left her to clean up the mess she'd made many times before.

This is the advantage of being raised by a grandmother. :p And also I was quite young when I began cooking and my grandmother had to closely supervise. I think gathering up the detritus gave her something more active to do. I think she liked the whole thing. We were a team. She taught me a lot about cooking and sewing -- not that I was always the best student though.

I usually support bad boys, though. Not just in tennis. Not for the sake of being bad boys because JMac's tantrums were embarrassing even for this fan, but for some reason, most of my favorites have a bit of an edge: JMac, Leconte (not a sky-high favorite but I loved watching him from time to time, he could lose it with the best of them, bless him), Becker at times (mostly the early years), Hewitt of course, Coria at times, Malisse obviously.

All a bit :cuckoo:

 So I guess Rafa is the anomaly. :)

I also liked Leconte although never one of my top faves. I've never forgiven the French for booing him during the RG final. His run to the final was so magnificent. And back then it was slow clay. Becker annoyed the hell out of me -- mostly when he beat Edberg. I know Malisse can be :cuckoo: on the court, but I always think of him as a total sweetheart. I'm sad to think I might have seen him on the court for the last time.

I have a tendency to pick players who blaze gloriously for a short time only. This is even when I start liking them before they do anything great. Borg was like this to me. I never saw Borg as being icy. I saw intensity. And then on the burning out early, Guga, Norman, Hewitt, Rafter, and so on. I also liked Mecir very much even though he beat Edberg as well as every other swede. :p So smooth and graceful and that peculiar posture that lent him distinction.

You must. Snoo's rendition is only a small sample of her oeuvre on the match thread.

Here's another sample.

Nieminen looked disgusted because this loser beat him.
How sad Idiot Roddick reduced himself

He acted like he actually cared.
Look at his drama queen "I worked my damned hardest. I was so lucky to win.
For the camera,

At least he'll still have the ugly model to

She'll leave him after his money disappears.

He played doubles in Madrid. lmao
Funny, he quit in previous matches with
ankle & bone pain, due to weight gain.
He had a pizza virus. The burrito virus.
Maybe he got the free money virus here.
Roddick's years of self-abuse & meltdowns must be attractive.
Look at his confused face expression.
Not mentally sound at 27.
You better hope he'll vomit in a bag
& loses before the 4th round.
Poor thing has caught the
Coward in Denial virus on the beach.
He cried in 2001 because he was mama's US tennis hero boy...
and Federer didn't punish his disrespect
for tennis' rules & lifestyle.
Screaming in a match didn't make him a better 'celebrity athlete'.
There's always the "Roddick never had a chance against the top players" excuse.
I wonder if his 16 injuries, viruses & poor health would
get worse if he had little money in his vast bank account.
Djokovic or Federer can't
care less about his self-destruction & paranoid attacks.
You know Roddick cared for Federer because he went to a tennis charity event in January 2005,...and still said he thought Federer was sad about losing the Australian Open.
Ljubicic beat him, Agassi & the Bryans with an injury.
I guess ass-kissing isn't enough for the US 'heroes'.
How convenient.
Roddick married in March to give an excuse for
missing matches.
Roddick,
don't worry, you'll lose your career & marriage within a decade.
Sam Querrey doesn't lie like you, Roddick.
Pat McEnroe pitifully lied
"Roddick was sick after he played the Madrid doubles match."
Drysdale couldn't wait to chime in
"Roddick only lost to Federer".
Of course, Drysdale.
Roddick obsessively adored Federer, but
he is not playing just your doll Federer.
Slimey, manipulative dipshit commentators.
This American doormat '

Not where I live. We have only the pigmy rattlesnake here. They are quite solitary and non-agressive. It's a treat to see one. I'm told their venom is deadly, but their mouths are quite small so it's difficult for them to bite an ankle or leg.

The diamondbacks are more common further south and in west Texas and Oklahoma where they have rattlesnake roundups -- although I don't know why. Snakes are good for the farmer. We were never allowed to kill them.

I don't mind snakes, but I do think I would be a bit freaked out to come across a big nest all unaware. :)

About 20 mins now - second rain delay.

Yeah there's no bitterness - feels like we split up ages ago and finally acknowledged it really, we're in such a friends sort of place.

But it's still a change and feels weird sometimes.

The diet really preceded all this, though, but in a way is related because it's all been about getting control over my life and moving it in a direction I want it to go - with my health, with my studying, and with my relationship too, which was no longer what i wanted. You just have to give it a try by yourself and ask them for advice. I was never really taught either. I didn't cook at all before I went to the US (apart from boiling pasta and frying eggs ). Once I was on my own I had to learn; I couldn't eat out all the time and I hated frozen/packaged meals. I got some of my mother's recipes and started with the easy stuff. I would always call her for advice and explanation of the details; once I woke my parents up at 3 in the morning for a cooking emergency. :rolls:

It must have been a real emergency, this is the kind you will hear for the rest of your life.

My passion for making desserts is fairly recent though, I started only a few months ago. :D

I volunteer as a trial subject while you learn :D

and it also depends on the amount of fat and other ingredients they contain; if they are too sweet and have too much butter or cream then I can't enjoy them no matter how much coffee I accompany them with

Though there are exceptions of course, like baklava.

I much prefer galaktoboureko. It has been years since I had really perfect galaktoboureko.

Wait, your recipe is missing a step: 'Wash strawberries.' :armed:

I did. Strawberries were washed and wait to be eaten in my refrigerator.

Miracles do happen: Belgium goes through as well :speakles: and this for the very first time since the semi-final system was introduced

I feel about 60 years old today :awww:

 Something that works for me at these times is that I think how crappy it will be in comparison when I am truly 60.

The honesty might be the worst part. I'm sure a lot of players tank matches and a lot of them think about going home as they're tanking. That's bad enough. Don't be honest about it in your post-match interview, especially if you're going to sound more like Eeyore than Marat Safin.

He displayed the attitude of a 6yo whose dad just forced him to practice too much. He needs to grow up. He didn't enjoy himself? What the fuck is that?

It was brave considering that he signalled weakness and that will cost him short term, perhaps dearly. What can you do? Sam is not, say, Ferrer.

See? That's hard. Bjorn Borg was my first love, so I have to say him. I respected and admired Arthur Ashe so much too -- but more as a person than just a tennis player.

Stefan Edberg, Guga, Patrick Rafter. Those too. And the little twisted Coria. but not so much as the other three.

I shudder to think how Bjorn Borg might have been treated had MTF been around then.

It was actual grass in those days. Borg only had fangirls, the shorts were too tight, the stubble, lacked charisma, druggie.

The amount of whining about Fed/Nadal is bad enough, these guys are absolute gems compared to arseholes like Connors, McEnroe and Nastase.

I wonder if many Montenegrins go to Albania for the beaches, since they don't have much coastline.

That is the main dispute between Slovenia and Croatia, the access to the sea since the Slovenian coast is very small, then again once they were free of Yugo rule they needed an enemy.

So getting back into shape may well help me find someone else at some point but that's not really what it's about.

I knew this guy who always said that anytime one person in a relationship went on a diet it was a signal that the relationship was in trouble. He'd predict a split. It made me so mad, but then over the years it proved true. It wasn't that someone had his eye on someone else, but more just that there was a dissatisfaction with status quo or something. Anyway, I don't predict splits when I hear about diets, but it's something I notice now.

there's enough coastline there for such a small population
actually it's more the other way around, many albanians go to Budva for summer holidays. Much better sea there, like the south of Albania.
You should know that 90% of our Adriatic coast is very shallow and not a nice landscape. Croatia and Montenegro have all the best part of Adriatic. At least we have the Ionian Sea

Budva looks very nice, probably full of Germans in summer. Croatia has the best part for sure, if they join the EU they are better off economically than many of the nations in there already.

I wonder if many Montenegrins go to Albania for the beaches, since they don't have much coastline.

That is the main dispute between Slovenia and Croatia, the access to the sea since the Slovenian coast is very small, then again once they were free of Yugo rule they needed an enemy.

I was talking to a Slovenian girl last summer and I was surprised to hear about that. According to her they have more differences with the Croats than with the Serbs.

Don't know why you;re laughing, we know that's how it will turn out  btw I read on another site :D that Federer demanded that he play all his matches on PC.

I am laughing because I expect the huge over-reaction at GM and the haters believing that the kniiiizz will break out at any moment. Of course you will calmly anticipate Rafa easily cruising.

gam >>> gamble

However my bf thinks otherwise.

The problem with gamblers is that they are smart, smarter than whatever the "average" is, but they compete against each other and by construction they are average there.

Of course sex is much superior. :D

GOAT deserves Chatrier Linda :(

Paraphrasing Kasparov: "The World Champion (himself at that point) expects certain privileges. The World Champion deserves those privileges".

Roger will never reach that, not even close.

Interesting, so diet signals the need for a change. Is it a signal to oneself or to the mate?

That's what mine told me on our first date :awww:

We're still together  Although anytime he hurts me I tell him I'm off to have a chocolate cake

It was an uncertain stage of our relationship. He didn't speak to me or did in a rude way, so I considered myself dumped (after MTF off season contests and discussing bets in the lounge with the guys) :o anyway long to talk... :o sometimes we communicated but it was rather full of issues from both sides (I didn't honestly think we could be together again and felt like playing with his ego) :o Finally after I came back from Athens he PMed me "How was your holiday with your friend, what was his name, I cannot recall?" (about Genci) and errr... it was actually a breakthrough, we're talking normally again and planning to meet soon. He's much more a catch for me than me for him, but he must have liked sex a lot if he cannot get over like a normal guy should

Hard not to think about it. For example today I got stucked three times in traffic because:
1. the driver on the midle band of the road doesn't start to signal turning left than AFTER the light is turning green.
2. people stopping the car on the right side of the road just in front of the fast food even if the parking is 50 m far.
3. cars entering the intersection way after the light turned yellow and blocking the one that have green.
Of course all the cars above have the windows open and from inside everybody from 1 km radius can happily hear the latest "manea" :tape: :help:
