I would expect some last-minute, really annoying post-DC withdrawals from this list :o:o

Are Fed and Rod really playing in Bangkok? If they do, I hope they don't tank matches and just take the appearance check. It would actually be a pretty strong field for a small IS tourney if they do stick around and play. Fed, Rodduck, Moya, Safin, Pim Pim & BON....

I really can't imagine Andy playing. He pulled out last year and I'd be shocked if he shows up this year. Even if he does, I can't see him playing well, considering the travel time. Same with the guys from Europe, though the distance isn't quite as far it's still far enough so that flying between Sunday and Monday and playing matches on Wednesday would be REALLY difficult with jetlag - that's not the kind of jetlag you can get rid of in a day or two.... I'd rather them pull out, even if it means messing up the draw, than see them all lose really early and just take the money and run. That is so poor.

I expect to hear withdrawal news of Safin and Roddick after their Davis Cup ties. Rogi will come to my town for sure.

I don't think Marat will pull out as his manager is running the tournament

Who's the guy then? the one you know really well, right ?

He could if he feels tired or gets injured during Davis Cup tie against Thailand.
I know how it feels when you have to fly from Moscow to BKK. It's a long flight.
Last minute withdrawal is possible for every players. (And Andy did so last year.) Actually that would be good for Paradorn but sad news for Thai tennis fans.

yes, it's the guy I know

of course if Marat got injured or something like that he would pull out, that's unavoidable, but otherwise I would be very surprised if he pulled out...he was supposed to come last year too, except that of course he had his dreadful injury all year

One of the big names in this event has withdrawn, but that name is not being released. I suspect it was Roddick, but the draw will be out soon enough and then we will know for sure.

As of today (25 Sep), Moya has withdrawn due to shoulder injury. Andy is still in the lists. ( Last year Andy withdrew after the draw was issued )

There will be main draw ceremony at the site today in the afternoon.

Thanks Jirobkk. I was thinking it would be one of the top four, I guessed Roddick off the top of my head, but if Moya has a sore shoulder that might explain his Davis Cup result today.

Last year Andy had hamstring problems in DC so he pulled out of Bangkok and Tokyo. While I think he should've played Tokyo instead of Thailand, he'll really look like a total asshole if he pulls out now, again. Especially if the Bryans win tomorrow, he might not even have to play a dead rubber in DC.

Moya lost the first rubber to France in 5 sets.
