That's talent! :D I take my heels off to drive, usually, if they're really high. But then, I have to be careful with heel height because sometimes I have a hard time finding pants long enough. :(

I never take off my heels for driving. I find it too weak :help: I admit the first experiences were :help: but now it's fine. It's not like with 7-8 cm but it's working.
And I usually wear 3/4 pants. Like Rafito

I hate flip-flops and the horrors that were in this summer were just :help: I'm not tall or slim enough to wear flip-flops

Igor is having a hard time. He looks very uncomfortable.

I keep looking at the clay. It's absolutely gorgeous. Much better than the clay in Madrid. Maybe it's the way they groom it between sets. that leaves those beautiful patterns.

I think it's much better for Spain to face Argentina than Russia in the final. It will be spring in BA instead of winter in Moscow, and the Argies are unlikely to put in a fast court.

Edit: groom not gromm. :o

I see BD doesn't know who to cheer for in whichever game, that's what happens when you support an NFL side and also have picked every player in the league in a myriad of different fantasy leagues. :o He seems to like it though, this way whenever anyone scores it's good for one of his teams somewhere, somehow.

Just because I'm not used to the new username and some people change theirs frequently, so I just end up calling them whatever they were to begin with. Like if Scoobs changed his name to Sour Puss, I'd still call him Scoobs even though he was now a sour puss. :)

No. I just had alot on my plate and needed to manage my time better. After a short while of being able to accomplish that, I'm now back to managing my time poorly again.

She's not my wife, yet. We're engaged. We'll get married in late 2009 but we haven't decided where yet. It will either be Italy, Argentina or England.

We're not having a baby yet, either. If we wanted a baby now, we'd just adopt Scoobs.

Actually I think it could be. Roger has a more conservative image and I can see him being liked by conservative people foremost because of that.

What i want to say is that a person with conservative ideas and without much tennis notions would rather like the Swiss Fed than the Spanish Nadal. And no, not because of his beautiful tennis. :o :D

I know several who are very conservative and disapprove of Nadal because they see him as anti authority, which is just :haha: I think kids like Nadal because he seems more like one of them instead of a grown-up.

I still think the poll would be interesting. Might not be a correlation, but could be. Tennis fans who go to tournaments (at least Indian Wells) seem to be conservative. I have to keep my lip zipped because in this country I am taken for a socialist -- sadly, I'm just a moderate in Europe.

The whole idea of moderation tends to the conservative, though - libertarians would say - anyone can say whatever they want at all times and let the power of words and arguments sink or swim on their own.

Obviously on here that could lead to...trouble... :)

I had a great time!

Yeah, we lost the tie, but seeing Andy play live twice was fantastic, was lovely to be on Court 1 for the first time, and right down courtside as well, which was awesome - doubt I'll ever be so lucky again - was a great experience - I clapped my hands raw, gave very vocal support to our guys, met some nice people from Andy's forum, met Andy's mum and girlfriend....so yeah I had a lot of fun!

As well as Locke and Hume. :p

There are all kinds of policing though and not all are necessarily "conservative' -- there's the friendly type and there's the baton wielding arbitrary type.

Moderator power is the sort of power that is best done with a light hand, in my opinion.

I've been discussing that - there was a block of Austrian supporters behind their team bench. They were chanting and cheering and making tons of noise.

There was a bunch of us from Andy's forum chanting, cheering, making tons of noise.

The Austrians were near the umpire's chair so they were being picked up very clearly on the courtside mics. Our lot were nowhere near the mics and you could hardly bloody hear us on the tv coverage, even when we were going nutty.

Meh - we need to get into the team bench donut area next time and then we might stand a chance of being heard.

Judy was absolutely lovely though and a good laugh.

hmmm...this is going into the wrong direction.

Well, for starters. It's not a matter of not being a fan or not. It's obvious to me that many of you are.

It's not a matter of people not appreciating his game enough but most of it is empty from where I'm sitting. You could argue that it's preaching to the converted, yes, but talking about Nadal and his game in here can't be done without sarcasm, so it seems.
I like sarcasm but not when just about every bloody discussion drips from it.
I think - but I could be wrong - that it's a defense mechanism against tards.

I would agree with you if a good tennis discussion about his game ever took place in here. With the odd exception here and there, it doesn't happen.

Despite not being a fan of Nadal I do agree with you strongly. It seems (whilst I could be wrong) like it's just become force of habit to post about Nadal in a negative light or at least qualifying positive comments with negative ones. I think it's because really positive comments about the Nadal game are leapt upon by a lot of people and his technical skills are vastly underrated over these forums because of that.

When discussion of his game does take place here you are correct the conversations are usually full of sarcasm that gets pretty tiresome and mainly negative things are discussed. I mean, the thing is, in GM if you credit Nadal for anything to do with his technical ability you are in for round criticism which is total rubbish. It is hard to understand how an entire forum basically seem to be on a totally different wavelength from the media, from tennis journalists, pundits, players and basically vastly more qualified opinions.

It's just the way it is though Casta. Hard luck. :p

If you want to discuss the positive aspects of nadal's game seriously then I'd be happy to indulge you. :)

Another cat I mourned was also from neighbors. A red cat. She used to jump on the window ledge, press her face against the window and look for me inside. If she spotted me, she would make these movements towards me with her paws and meow like crazy until I came out to play. So, we ended up having our daily session of fun. When it was time for me to go to school on my bike, she would put herself in front of my bike to prevent me from going so it usually took me a while to get going and she would get ready to greet me when it was time for me to come home.
She used to make fun of the dog of my other neighbor. That dog couldn't bark (he was mistreated by a previous owner, lord knows what he did to the dog) and he was on a leash. One of the cat's hobbies was to study how far he could get with his leash and then tiptoe over until she was nose to nose with the dog but he just could not get to her and all that was left for the dog was to go crazy trying to bark. Poor sod.
I still miss that cat.
Damn allergies, I want to have a cat...or a dog. Friends have advised me a bald cat....:bolt:...but those creatures are too scary and ugly.

Such a beautiful dog and great company. Trouble is that this dog used to love breaking out to hunt for chickens from the neighborhood (he'd kill them one by one, a chicken a day :o which caused a great uproar)

The good thing about cats is that they're independent. It's no good having a dog if you're often out of the house.

:rolls: definitely not. i remember during orientation, some student in my group complained about how law schools get ranking points by constantly spending money in facilities that don't actually relate to the quality of education (adding in facelifts to building etc.) and a couple of students told him that was essentially an anti-american sentiment
