Dustin is going for that top 100 spot, and he has 50 points to defend the week of the French Open first week, so playing this event on a surface good for him is an intelligent decision. If he doesn't win this event, or at the very least make the final, it would have backfired on him.

Bohli, Kontinen and Muller are the possible Dustin's contenders; the others are very poor

Dustin has much more chances of winning title in Cremona than to qualify in RG. As for the contenders, Bohli and Muller for sure: I wouldn't forget Van Der Merwe, who defends final in Cremona, and Ram, who is in bad form but is still a top100. Then Ryan Harrison is very interesting youngster and if he comes, he could trouble most of the players in the draw...

And don't forget De Voest.

I think it's a good decision by Brown. He should stick to HC.

Unlucky for Gremelmayr that he has to play qualies here.

Who has gotten the WCs btw?

Dimitrov got one. For the others I don't know: last year Menga and Grigelis got it. Maybe Trevisan gets another this year: on his site several days ago he said that this tournament was in his plans...

Good player this Pella, Van der MErwe only serve & volley. Karlovic style on the court.

New game to love Pella, Van der Merwe is absolutely bad.

HE tries to play like Karlovic but his serve is much less consistent and his volley is a joke.

Yes, I knew Pella and Del Bonis. In fact I'm watching this cause wanted to test his real level. I've ever seen Bagnis, but according to my Argentinian friends is the worst of them.
facu bagnis is a great player with a good future ,maybe he is not have the talent like pella and del bonis but he is a great player .

well, i mean if he's going to be this next big thing he has to be able to play on every surface right?

If he's going to get any better on clay he has to play on clay

plus im pretty sure he had hopes of advancing past the second or first rounds

and the final reason would be that he probably counted on being able to do good enough in the clay tournaments to qualify for the french qualies, or atleast get a wild card so he wanted the match practice on clay.

Why did he even bother playing on clay then? There were lots of HC-tournaments in the past weeks...

Needed to get some experience on it. A lot of Australians and Tomic included probably thought he would be able to make the transition even though his previous results on it in juniors were poor as well. Ideally I think Tomic thought he would be competitive at the Challenger level wins a few matches and make the RG Qualies cut. In the end though it has shown him that he has some major flaws that need to be addressed in his game. In Australian Tennis there is also a strong emphasis that clay court tennis is a lot more beneficial for a player's development than the mug surfaces we have over here and has been one of the main reasons for our downfall. Personally after seeing his early results on it I would have immediately pulled him from any more claycourt tournaments especially the futures and sent him to Tennis Australia's Spanish base and work with a guy like Mantilla on the clay until the grasscourt season came around. With his attitude though I couldn't see him lasting with Mantilla and the Tomic clan, Daddy in particular, are notorious for not liking someone telling them how it gets done so maybe it was better for him to go to Italy.

Yes, I could see that tie break in live.... I thought that was going crazy cause it didn't finish even after 30 points. The main reason was both players held on his serve each point and his attitude wasn't nervous. They played set points as if was a normal one. Really curious.

Yeah last year for just under six months, it was news in Australia. He was suspended just after Wimbledon. He could Raven Klaasen a Kafir or something. But the suspension was due to finish just after the Aus Open but they reduced it because he had been doing some therapy stuff for it. He said that he was heaps fit for his comeback but never really did anything in the few tournaments he played towards the end of the year.

Oh that's sad to hear, well, actually poor from Klein most likely. I'm not such a big fan of suspended players unless it's for gambling  or smoking pot (like Younes or Felder) as I find these actually funny ;) The only suspended player I liked was Coria because his talent was so undisputable and unique. Watching him live was better than on TV. I believe he also won a case in the court about it later on. Just like that poor dude Bohdan Ulihrach who was given a forbidden substance by a tournament's physio :silly:

Never in doubt by Gremelmayr, this guy has everything to be a challenger draw cleaner like Funky Flo when he feels like.

Now in the youngster battle Tomic to win :wavey:

Someone from Romania simply obliterates skinny Tomic....literally wipes the floor with him....

Nathaliia
05-22-2010, 02:55 PM
This is what unfortunately is happening and we must add Tomic is helping the Romanian in this activity.

How has Soeda managed to lose to this exhausted poof, very, very obscure contender.

Nathaliia
05-22-2010, 03:14 PM
Very very slow player today, no major weapon, just pushing, usually to the outside of the court, and sometimes a passing shot.

Copil playing solid, gotta admit, but also has lapses with these double faults when a break up, a better opponent could turn the match over without a doubt

Set Copil 7-5

Tutu

7-5 to Marius. :worship: Finish it in two, haide!

3-2 Tomic, but Copil serving up 30-15.

Nathaliia
05-22-2010, 03:37 PM
But Copil makes more mistakes now, and he has also just hit the net with his racquet.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:44 PM
Tomic now up 4-3, starting to win his service games easier hopefully he can pick his game up then win the set.

superboy2006
05-22-2010, 03:46 PM
In spite of raising his level in the 2nd, young Bernard is a complete bum in the decisive moments, its comprehensively Copils match to win and to lose.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:49 PM
Seriously what is going on Tomic, if this was the Aus Open or US Open then most probably would of already won. 40-30 Copil serving come on Tomic, if you can take Cilic to 5 sets then you should beat Copil.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:51 PM
Tomic needs to win this, at Burnie earlier this year he had an amazing tournament where he played two, two and half hours three setters against better opponents then Copil, but when Tomic is at his best Copil would be the bum.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:52 PM
Good come back down 40-0 on Copil's serve now up the Advantage.

Go Tomic

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:56 PM
Tomic up a break 6-4 i think.

Nathaliia
05-22-2010, 03:56 PM
He is the net rusher and has more power in his strokes; I can't tell the height because the stream is of poor quality.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:57 PM
Has copil got a bigger and better serve then Tomic, also Tomic hasn't got that great of a serve for his height really does he.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 03:58 PM
There both standing at 193cm, come on Tomic down 1-0. He's serving now though.

Hewitt2010
05-22-2010, 04:02 PM
