Seaman chops off ponytail and moustache

David Seaman has had most of his hair cut off and nearly all of his moustache.

After his World Cup quarter-final clanger against Brazil, his error against Macedonia earlier this month in the European Championship qualifiers and three Arsenal defeats in a row, Seaman has rung in the changes.

According to his hairdresser, the Arsenal legend has reduced his moustache to the merest stubble and has had his mane cut into a David Ginola-style bob.

lmao! At bloody last that monstrosity is gone :D But suprised he cut the tashe as well! Well I hope this drastic measure brings a change in frotune starting with a win tomorrow :)

Sven asks Zico if he knows any strikers

The mists are parting but not all is clear. The tea leaves are stuck in the bottom of the cup, the tarot cards are curling at the edges and my crystal ball is on the blink.

But here are my thoughts for the year ahead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

January: A window opens, in Yorkshire a man with the initials TV is desperately trying to unload a young man, by the name of Lee, who can't keep out of trouble.

Howard Wilkinson boosts his strike force by signing Shaquille O'Neal from the LA Lakers and Hakeem Olajuwon from the Toronto Raptors. "We're lacking a bit of height up front," he said.

February: I see ice, I see snow. I see something big and red going downhill very fast. Is it Austrian skier Hermann Maier? No, it appears to be Liverpool Football Club.

March: Sheffield United win the Worthington Cup.

James Beattie has 25 goals to his credit, but misses out as England bravely hold Leichtenstein to a goalless draw.

Sven-Goran Eriksson bemoans the lack of English strikers.

April: Beattie nets his 30th goal of the season but does not make the England squad.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/38603000/jpg/_38603137_jmhoullier150.jpg
What slides downhill faster than Franz Klammer?

May: Alex Ferguson wins the ludo game which decides the Premiership title after Manchester United and Arsenal finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored.

I see a bare cupboard on Merseyside. I also see a big red sack. Au revoir, Monsieur H.

Sheffield United complete a domestic cup double, and Sven-Goran Eriksson leaves James Beattie out of the squad for the friendly in South Africa, despite his 42-goal Premiership haul.

"I don't think he's quite ready," he says.

June: Michael Owen signs for Real Madrid.

I see David Beckham buying a Spanish phrase book, looking at Spanish property and eating Spanish omlettes. He catches Spanish flu.

July: Having dabbled with a foreign coach, Liverpool decide to revive the spirit of their old Boot Room. Emlyn Hughes, Jimmy Melia and Jimmy Tarbuck take the reins at Anfield.

August: Howard Wilkinson adds to winter signings O'Neal and Olajuwon, with Tracy McGrady from Orlando Magic, Kwame Brown from Washington Wizards, a giraffe from Chester Zoo, and a man up a very tall ladder.

"We've been lacking a bit of height," says Wilkinson. Air Traffic Control ask to see Sunderland's game plan for the new season.

Wilkinson looks to the skies for inspiration

September: James Beattie starts the new season with eight goals in three games. "He is almost ready, but not quite," says Eriksson as England lose 1-0 in Macedonia after missing three penalties.

October: Oh dear! Woe, woe and thrice woe! England's Euro 2004 hopes are dashed as England lose 1-0 in Turkey.

James Beattie has 14 goals in six games. "I might have a look at him," says Eriksson.

Gerard Houllier returns to English football as manager of Leigh RMI.

November: After a poor start to Sunderland's season, Howard Wilkinson signs a circus stiltwalker, a troupe of Moroccan acrobats and a man who owns a dirigible.

"At last, I have the height up front I have been looking for," he says.

December: Sven-Goran Eriksson's bad luck continues as David Seaman vows to play on for another year.

He calls up James Beattie and asks him to grow his hair.

"I think he is ready now," says Sven.

01-02-2003, 01:49 PM
I have to agree, looking @ your team yesterday many of your players are second rate :o Vignal (who? :o) Cheyrou, smicer etc etc, I ahve to say though I think Diao was unlucky with the 1st booking  I think Gallagher could have taken the conditions into account. With Man City in the Cup I think it'll be another early exit for Liverpool :o 7th in the league. My Dad is horrified he's so disolllusioned with Pool. I didn't think you showed much fight yesterday and I don't see where the goals are gonna come from for you

Goonergal
01-02-2003, 01:52 PM
Hey Em :wavey: Yeah Sami had a bit of an 'tude yesterday didn't he :p Loved the bit where Alan Shearer held the ball by the corner flag for nearly a minute :D That was strength and determination for you :D some of the Pool players should take note perhaps....

ILR

Hi :wavey:

He certainly did!:p Sami rocks ;) he always laughs when he gets booked!:D Im not suprised your dad is horrified,I am too! too many second rate players, you are so right.I was reading in the paper that Biscan,Cheyrou etc either dont have the qualities to play in The Prem or they simply dont care.Goals are coming from......uh.....Niel Mellor :p early exit is looking very likely now, although when the draw was made I thought we'd be over this patch by now :(

Goonergal
01-02-2003, 02:02 PM
lol, Neil Mellor :p Dad was like wtf is that  :p but he was the most likely to score! But Pffff @ Arsenal throwing away a 3-0 lead pffff  & Pffff @ the scum  Always the same they wait till the last minute to steal victory :fiery:

Ugh, I was definitely NOT thinking about drooling... :p

I follow mostly brazilian football, but I know something about the other leagues. ;) And if we talk about the Spanish league, well, they are like some second stop to our players anyway, so its a no-brainer. :p You can see, for example, a player on Barcelona who is called Fabio Rochemback, who came from my fave team, Internacional. ;) And he is a classic mid-fielder, with a huge shot to the goal, something like FalcŃo was in his days. :)

What comes closer to the EPL here is that my team hired a player who was in Newcastle United, midfieldier Diego Gavilan. ;) More than that, I can say that I like Liverpool, but english soccer is a little bit "rough" to my liking. lol ;)

http://www.clicrbs.com.br/rbs/image/328758.jpg
Gavilan

There are some reports on newspapers saying that Andre Cruz is the first choice of our team among women. :p Well, judge by yourselves, droolers. ;)

Alright, Brazil is on regional tournaments right now.
My fave team won our regional last year (:bounce:) and we┤re starting to defend the title tomorrow night. At home. And Im going! :D With twisted ankle and everything. :D
Our rivals had a draw on round one, and two players got red card. As their next match is against us, they have two big misses already. LMAO!
Gilberto is a left wing, LOADS of tecnic, but a shithead
Rodrigo Fabri was one of the top scorers of last year┤s national championships, so he is one of the main names of the hell-team. :p
You might now them, both played in Europe at some moment of their careers.

Good to see Eurosport will be covering the Copa Libertadores, starting on Thursday.

Incidentally, I think Barca were right to sack Van Gaal, but wrong to get Raddy Antic. He's just a journeyman coach, who's managed countless teams, and helped get Atletico Madrid relegated.

My team only got a draw at home.
We had SEVERAL problems on the connection between the defensive midfield and the attack. As Gavilan is not ready yet (documentation takes time. :fiery:), we had to put up with a team with three backs, two wings and three defensive midfielders. One of our wings was an offensive midfielder who played there.
So at times we had four attacking players and NOBODY in the midfield. We scored first, but then lost the mid and started to get menaced. The coach had terrible answers, as he took one of the guys from the attack to put in the third defensive MF. It got even worse when he tried other substitutions.
The other team tied the things and we were closer to lose than to win for all the second half.
Now all the four teams are tied with one point. We lost a huge opportunity to start on top and tied the home match with a disgusting team in Juventude.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. You guys are probably lost. :p

Will Ricketts make his debut for Boro on Saturday? I'll also be interested to see how his replacement, Salva, does for Bolton

Bizarre sight of the day, former Barca star Guillermo Amor, watching his new team Livingston lose 2-0 to Dunfermline in the Scottish cup. He must really need the money!

My team, York, have got a much-needed cash boost, with the news that Sky will cover their glamourous league game with Hartlepool live on the 15th.

It's true. He went back to Barša to "save" the team.

I just hope Barša can keep at least its good performances at Champions League, now that's sure it won't be at next one, and maybe neither at the UEFA Cup.

The new players in the Mboro' squad gave them a new lease of life against Liverpool today. Final score was Liverpool 1 (Riise) Mboro 1 (Geremi). Geremi's goal was an excellent free-kick.
At the bottom of the table. Sunderland and Westham both lost, whilst WBA and Bolton drew 1-1, with West Brom's goal coming just before the end.
Exciting looking Spanish game tonight, Real Madrid V Betis Sevilla. Tomorrow, it's Bilbao V Barca. Barcelona have announced that club president Gaspart has resigned.

Gaspar OUT :D :bounce: :D It's about damn time he left  Saw the match between Real and Betis 4-1. The goal that Zidane scored was pure class the build up play was unbelievable the pope is a genius :p I really hope I don't ahve to watch Barca lose again  Hopeful Antic will give them a new lease of life :bounce: Glad West Brom got that last minute goal :D Very well deserved. I think Sunderland will go down they are an extremely poor team and the stats don't lie. Watched the boro vs pool game too, Geremis's goal was class, 1st away goal in 4 months   But Pool's goal Pfff Riise again  lol Mr. Clean got lucky how many bobbles did it take before the ball got to Riise :o Pfff the reds are leading 1-0 in the battle of the Manx :fiery: C'mon Blues :fiery

I see that Ipswich Town have gone into administration (which doesn't mean they're out of business yet, but it does mean they're in deep financial trouble). Just shows how much a team coming down from the Premiership suffers financially.

Ayugbeni, Portsmouth's new loan signing, looks a pacy & classy striker.

Arsenal  A comprehensive beating of the Scum on their own turf :D :D Man U set out to kick us from the start  RVN was lucky to saty on the pitch imo. But the Giggs howler was the miss of the season :p That was the turning point, I mean isn't it ironic how they were ranting and raving about goal he scored against us in 1999.....:p
