Which clay titles will Rogie win...

Rome
Estoril
Madrid
French Open

I say he has a legitimate shot of winning all 4 tournaments. Let's see what he's defending: first off he loses the 90 points in Monte Carlo for not playing at all, Estoril he didn't play last year so unless he loses in the first round he will pick up points here, 360 SF points in Rome, and all 2000 points with the FO title, that's 2450 points with little chance of losing a lot.

As for Rafa: he's defending 3280 points this clay season (1000 Monte Carlo title, 500 Barcelona title, 1000 Rome title, 600 Madrid F, and 180 French Open 4th round). There's little chance for Rafa to get back to #2, he has to defend 3 titles and a runner up, can go up at the FO, but to become #2 again will be tough as early as the end of the FO, he'll still be only #3 at best.

Let's say for argument's sake that you're right, if Estorial and one MS event, is it Rome or Madrid?

what about the 1000 pts he needs to defend for Madrid?

Exactly. Roger's defending 3450 points this clay season while Rafa's defending 3280. Source (http://statracket.net/?view=stats/category.php).

Yep, one way or the other.

Fearless prediction: lots of gloating from one fanbase, and whining from the other fanbase. Either way, it's going to be ... juicy. Just like that prince from Robin Hood: Men in tights said:

You foresee we will be that crazy happy? Well, if so, you should know that we, tennis fans, are not used to get crazy over those shitty dust months of the year, like you, Rafinito fans do. I mean we usually don't need to wait 11 months till the dust machine will reborn. Life must suck for you, Mugboar fans. HAHAHAHHAHA!!!!

I wouldn't really able to predict this. What I can predict, is that this clay season is going be very interesting. The climax would be a Federer vs Nadal Roland Garros final. Even a semifinal would be good enough. Actually, I just want to see Federer vs Nadal on clay in general and see if Roger can get over his mental block this season.

If it wasn't for Davydenko playing Estoril, I'd say Federer has it in the bag. However, a Davydenko victory over Federer in the final could very well happen. In fact, if Kolya is at 100% by the time Estoril comes, I'm picking him as the winner.

I was aware of your sarcasm. The thing is that Federer only won Estoril in the 2008 clay court season so sarcastically saying that he will win only Estoril this year -as if that was a totally unlikely scenario- is actually neither unlikely or funny.

A sarcastic and/or funny thing to say would be to assert that Nadal will only win Barcelona this year... That's an scenario that would actually be unique and truly unlikely.
