Is this right about Hanescu?

I see this as a very strange case: 99% of ATP pros would die to be taller. It seems to me like Victor would like to be shorter. At 6-6, he's certainly very tall for a clay court specialist. It seems like movement is okay for a guy of his size, but still subpar. I think that contrary to most players, Hanescu would be better 6 inches shorter. You agree?

the perfect height for a atp player is 6'1- 6'4. if you are over that, you will have problems. if you are shorter, you will have problems too

I challenge anyone here to tell me Ivo Karlovic would be in the Top 32 if he were 6-2.

Well, since he would undoubtedly have developed a totally different game style with a greater balance between serve and groundstrokes if he were 6'2", your point is largely irrelevant.

On the subject of Hanescu, he does have a very poor serve for someone of his height, although I suppose one could have said the same about Del Potro this time last year; it's rather too late for Big Vic to improve his delivery though, and he'll always have his best results on clay where the ball bounces at a nice height for him and he's not too rushed.

we cannot tell for sure if it would have been better for him 6 inches short.......shorter players move better but power comes easily to taller players.......i think hanescu is an okay mover for his height........

More to the point, even if Victor was a gipsy, I wonder what motivated TMJordan to brought it up.

As for the thread, being above 1.90 m. in tennis can only help a player with his serve but not so much with his game in general. Extremely tall guys generally don't do well in tennis unless they really take care of their bodies to be as light and slender as possible. Take the cases of Cilic, Del Potro and even Hanescu himself who are pretty light considering their height-

I think since his birth he's being rather comfortable with his body and I suspect he's pretty much used to handling it. If he suddenly was given a new shorter one he could be unaccustommed.
