It's in Catalan.

"By the way, we've been with him and apart from the clay season he'll also unveil a mouth protection. He grinds his teeth with every shot... and he has to take care of them. From what we saw he's still not used to it."

Rafael Nadal: bringing the concept of grinding to a whole new level.

lol that's an annoying yet funny habbit to have, grinding your teeth. Nadal is professional enough to not let something like that affect his game.

I wonder how long he'll wait before he gets those wisdom teeth out.

This is probably a thread more suited to the Nadal forum.

Think Cronaldo wears one of those things too

it's completely different : it's about sports where there are contacts between players, like rugby or basketball, in those cases the goal is not to lose one's teeth in a contact

(which happens from time to time actually)

Cech (Chelsea goalkeeper) even keeps a protection for his skull now since he had a trauma.

ronaldo is using those that relax facial muscles and thus bolster entire body making it more ready for greater efforts, so I read some guy made a patent of it in the states.

perhaps nadal is using the same.

Ronaldo doesn't wear a gum shield like you are referring to,that's mainly rugby and basketball.I assume he is either wearing nothing or the thing the other poster mentioned because I have never seen a soccer player wear what all the rugby players wear to protect their teeth-those things are clearly visible.

You can see the protection Rafa is wearing in this video

Or, you can continue these pointless discussions.

Duong....Huh? I know what a gumshield looks like and that's not what Cronaldo wears. It's a tiny little transparent thing that's more the size of a brace. Maybe it is a brace, or maybe it's one of these things.

Try be right next time you try patronise somebody...

I've seen it more and more in football recently, like William Gallas for instance,

or maybe I make a confusion

I've just seen it on Nadal's video :

that's what I saw on Ronaldo, I would never have called it a "tiny little transparent thing"

yet it's true that what Gallas wears is bigger

but it must be very uncomfortable for Nadal

Predictable.

Rafa mustn't smash the racket on court, so he will punch his opponents when they are so shameless to defeat him.
This gumshield is a kind of protection, If the opponent will stand the first punch and try to punch back.

Rafa - all out every point - every game - every match. Never been a player like him in history of tennis. His body will wear out prematurely however, his teeth being some of the less critical parts. Dude needs to learn how to pick his battles and tank some masters matches like frauderer.

People who grind their teeth unconsciously grind them at night and therefore wear a guard at night. Grinding can wear down teeth and/or contribute to headaches. They do NOT wear them during the day and they cannot be seen because the guard is not being worn.
