Gasquet played well, Rochus absolutely stank, nothing more needs to be said.

Very disappointing match.

Gasquet only lost one point on his serve for the entire match... Rochus got absolutely destroyed!!

Olivier played horribly, but the bottom line is that clay is his worst surface and borderline impossible for him to play on at times.

What a hammering. I mean damn.

I've seen double bagels less embarassing than that, Gasquet lost a total of one point on his serve in the entire match (has this ever happened before?)

One of the most dominating performances from any player I have seen.

Loved it. :inlove: Beautiful display from Richie, all areas of his game covered - especially the backhand dropper.

Gasquet turned into Karlovic over night

1st Serve Points Won (17/18) 94%
2nd Serve Points Won (11/11) 100%

Very good performance, im expecting him to take the title this week, keep it going Richard

Rochus was poor! Dreadful serving in the first set. Only 20 points scored in total versus 54 from Richard who showed quite some variety.

Who was that? Gasquet showing all the tools he has and it was nice to see him maintian intensity for 2 full sets.

Rochus played poorly but Richie didn't really let him get out of the gate.

Keep it up Richie - and if you play like that I won't even bitch about wearing that cap again.

It would be great if Richie can return to his best level.

I'd settle for a few wins in a row would be a move in the right direction

Great stats from Gasquet. The win should give him some much needed confidence after a poor start to the year so I hope he can consolidate on this victory.

Gasquet lost a total of one point on his serve in the entire match (has this ever happened before?) Doha 2008: Michael Berrer - Abdulla Al Haji 6-1 6-1. Berrer didn't lose a single point on his serve.

:spit: This is Gasquet we're talking about. But, yes, I would like him to win the title as well. :)

Golubev should be a nice match-up for him next, but the problems are likely to start in the QF...Nieminen would surely frustrate him, and no-one quite knows what Hanescu is capable of.

Good win today though, and if he can rack up some solid QF showings in '250s' he will at least be heading for a top 50-60 year-end finish. Should obviously be aiming quite a bit higher than that, but with winning matches comes confidence, and hopefully stronger results...

Nieminen would surely frustrate him....
Richard is 3-0 against Nieminen, one win even dates from this year. It is of course always wise to take one match at a time, but why Nieminen should be a particular threat esacapes me.
