Paolo Lorenzi - The Ultimate Journeyman

04-05-2010, 01:07 PM
Some people here were surprised to see him in top 100 at the end of last year thinking, how the hell did he get there
He had some good results in challengers last year but has failed to win any matches in ATP tour.

But the past month he has been a protagonist and not on the tennis court
Check his last tournaments

11.03 Indian Wells - Lost to Russell R1
(transatlantic trip) 16.03 Caltanissetta Chall - Lost QF to Trevisan
(transatlantic trip) 25.03 Miami - Lost to Chela R1
(transatlantic trip) 30.03 Napoli Chall - Lost to Junqueira R2
(transatlantic trip) 05.04 playing in Bogota Chall
12.04 final in Pereira
(transatlantic trip) Icelandic volcano permitting - 19.04 Rome Challenger II

he's surely getting a lot of points in his Air Miles card

Economidis used to this when he made the top 100 and Kool Kevin Kim will travel anywhere to get into a tournament.

Lorenzi doesn't feel jetlag.

Dennis Bergkamp became a good football player only because he was too scared of flying to become a journeymen tennis player.

he has enough time to take a steamship back and forth, or even a canoe

Lol, I was mentioning this over and over again in other topics.

Don't forget to mention that he is bound to travel to Italy again in two weeks.

Paolo Lorenzi still have time to make some hollywood movies, like

Here is his twin brother, Steve Buscemi:

apparently he has improved it a lot

if so this is horrible news, the best part of watching him play was the suspense of wondering, every time he served, whether he was going to hit the ball or just charge over the net and bludgeon his opponent to death with his racket

We can only imagine how the flight attendants eat out of his hand when he regularly shows off his moves during rides.

Phau also had a busy schedule:
04.1.-10.1. Chennai
11.1.-17.1. Melbourne
25.1.-31.1. Heilbronn
01.2.-07.2. Johannesburg
08.2.-14.2. San Jose
15.2.-21.2. Belgrade
20.2.-27.2. Dubai

Good results on challanger level; once he went upgrade it was obvious he doesn't belong there! Many, many others like him in last 3 years!

04-05-2010, 07:17 PM
At least he managed to let people speak about him for something

I was much surprised that nobody talked about him last year when he greatly improved his rankings (reached a carreer-best of 83).

The thread bout him in Italian forum had remained unfilled for years :haha:

But at least there was something to know more about him :yeah: (well some had been said about him after he beat Tomic ;) )

yes I had mentioned these ways and backs : I always thought he would retire but he never did

Last year he also travelled sometimes to African futures

A player who very often won very tight matches last year

Did he get a wildcard to play Rome?

04-18-2010, 09:33 AM
WCs havent been decided yet but I doubt he'll get one

04-18-2010, 11:12 AM
check Przysiezny's schedule this year

04-18-2010, 07:58 PM

after losing the final in Pereira (surprisingly he played 2 tournaments in the same country) he's scheduled to play in Rome Challenger

Will our hero be able to defeat the Icelandic Volcano Cloud and fly safe to his capital city?

04-18-2010, 08:45 PM

You really don't like him, his schedule wasn't so wacky as Lorenzi's

@another offtop.

Super Pippo could learn some tennis our Journeyman

Lorenzi journeyed quite well to the net today for 2 sets against Nadal.

05-11-2011, 02:26 PM
Already after I saw him against Djokovic in Queens few year ago I knew he will be a legend:bowdown:
